Everything I read, or hear is positive about the Tigers. The offensive line play, the emergence of Lee at QB, the success of C Scott, The Brass Eggs of "The Hat"...It's a little overwhelming. To think how far LSU has come from the days of Curly Hallman, to winning 2 BCS Championships. I wish my grandfather was around to see the games. People always ask, "Why are you so crazy for LSU?" Its simple really, LSU is Louisiana Pride to me and my family. I watched LSU games with my Grandfather, and listened to WWII medic stories during commerical breaks. The Games were hard to watch back then, but it brought us together as a family. I've never attended class at LSU, only visited for Baseball and Football games. But it's always felt like home, and like Family. Family is at the most importance to this Crazy Cajun.
Nice post! Doesn't matter if you ever attended classes at LSU. (I knew a lot of students who rarely made it to class!) Being a Tiger is in your heart, not your head.
Good Call Primo. I have been attending LSU games since I was 4. For my birthday my dad made me a purple and gold football field cake. Now that my brother has a son and my best friend has a son, it is fun to watch them spend the quality time watching a quality team. Curly Hallman. Remember the black socks?
I didn't attend any classes at LSU either, only many many football games and I worked on campus for a while. Was nice to come out of the office and see the Stadium in front of me, but I digress. I think you nailed it. It's a part of my life growing up. Win or lose, people would always love their Tigers..Always watch the games at big gatherings. I think it's kind of the reason we're getting such love now. LSU (and it's fanbase) are being rewarded for all the years of patience and dedication. It's a fine time indeed to be a Tiger fan. :LSU231:
I think also, its about people in other parts of the country respecting LSU and Louisiana. People generalize LSU's fan base, as "Cajun Coonass people, that paddle a Pirogue to work daily". And I am find with the stereotype, and could careless what other people think about me and my family. But winning SEC Championships, and BCS Championships...makes me proud of my state, my fellow Louisianians, my close friends, and most of all my family. I'd say were doing pretty good for a pack of rejects from Nova Scotia.
