I am excited and nervous at the same time. I know we have the pure talent to go in there and out play this Auburn Football Team, I am just worried about execution and doing our best not to make mistakes. Its hard enough to beat this team, but we have to beat them at home and beat the Refs as well. I think at least 1 HUGE play, possibly a touchdown gets called back for a penalty.
it's not like we're head and shoulders above AU talent wise like let's say vandy, UK, or state. i think it's this feeling (and i'm not talking about you, LSU4life) that has people thinking anything less than a blowout in most of our games is because our coach sucks. i do agree execution is of the utmost importance.
If this has been posted, please delete. But it's worth a harsh reality read. Miles confounds but keeps on winning - College Football - Rivals.com
i enjoyed that, thanks for posting. if LSU beats AU (i predicted us to lose btw) they will be 8-0. no LSU fans could have realistically expected that (forget sunshiny predictions or those with expectations that LSU should never lose a game ever). it will be pretty remarkable made even more so by the grumbling from the fans. i hope deep down the coaches and players partly are winning to spite the fans. because it doesn't take much from other teams to just say "maybe everyone's right, maybe we do suck, maybe we are lucky". it's probably one of the reasons i loved the UF win so much and if LSU beats AU and UF on the road in the same season (think about how infrequently that happens) it's always an accomplishment.
"I think at least 1 HUGE play, possibly a touchdown gets called back for a penalty." My biggest Nightmare....Ridley breaks one- and then... "Holding #78 on the offense..." And then even worse, we have to listen to Gary Danielson talk about all the mistakes we have made throughout the game- This guy needs a good "Woody Hayes to the Throat"
I dont see out of purple and gold goggles, I admit I get up & down on this team but never question the fan in me, I stick with them thru thick & thin. I just face reality, and IMHO, the way we are currently playing, we are NOT the best team in college football. Do we have the talent & ability to become the best team in college football during the last 6 weeks of the 2010 season - YES, ABSOLUTELY Do I think that will happen? - Million Dollar Question
I am nervous too. All the 'experts' say we will lose. We are on the road. Hard to turn on a TV without hearing Cam Newton's name. Not hearing anything much about LSU. Surely we will lose this one. Sounds perfect to me! Should be a great game. I look for our defense to bring Cam back to the real world.:tigereye:
I"m sure hoping this is the case. I'm not near as jittery about our offense as I am about our defense. It's the BIIIIIIGGGG question! ... Are they really as good as we think they are ... or .. have they just played a bunch of poor offenses that made them look good. I think this game hangs on our defense. If they shut Cam Newton down, it will a) prove they are the best defense in the nation, and b) prove Newton is not a "god" running around in a football helmet., and c) prove the media is bunch of biased a-55 holes who like to create the story as opposed to reporting it. C is my main reason I want LSU to win. I hate the "experts" on tv. Auburn is a great team, but the dunces at ESPN deserve to have an egg pizza shoved in their faces. :geaux:
Yep, the pressure is on. This game will be a big determining factor in our potential season. Win and we are in the drivers seat, lose and, although still not out of it, it will be a fight to get back in it. I think many are just waiting for an LSU loss just to take us out of the conversation. A one loss LSU team, even if we win out and take the SEC, may not make it back. Not at least without help.
