It's been a long time since we had nothing to play for

but pride in November. The best we can hope for is a better bowl game. No NC, SEC, SEC West. It's an awful feeling. Do you think we will even have 50,000 people at the Furman game?

The Ole MIss game was the pivotal game of the season. I think if we win last night we could have challenged Bama and had possible NC as a goal.

The scary part is this team loses our top WR's and QB. We start all over with an inexperieced QB. I think the next 2-3 years are going to be tough.

I think recruiting is going to take a major hit this year and next.

Whats wrong with pride? or a better bowl game. These guys will also be playing for next season. It starts right now.

That's what we heard in 2008 and 2009, too, but it didn't happen. Recruits look at LSU and see a perennial top-10 team that has opportunity for top freshmen to come in and play right away. Not every recruit wants to be a reserve at Bama for three years.

Looks like we are in a similar position as last year. Definitely disappointed with the losses, how we lost, and who we lost to but the season can still be salvaged with 2 more HUGE games. I am cautiously hoping for a 1-1 split, but also realizing we could go 0-2. The Bama & Texas A&M games are not only big for pride but also for recruiting. If we lose those 2, then I could see some 'dark times' for our program. We might have to get used to 3-4 losses annually, unless our coaches can turn it around.

I said this before and I say it again, people better get their shots in now. Chief won't have this defense down for long, hes been at this too long.

Not really much to play for. Les' toughest task will be to keep their focus. Almost all their goals are shot minus a crappy bowl game.

That's what often happens but we are rebuilding. This defense is horrendous. Nothing to be done in the short run.

I believe this as well. And I believe he is trying everything to get it right, or as good as it can be. He is moving guys around and trying to maximize their talent. I think some of the guys that are young and finally getting on the field have had some time to mature and improve. I think they are coming of age and probably are now starting to earn consideration of playing time, before might not have been the case. Maybe some of these guys, get in a game, play great but maybe they struggle in practice, and some may be the other way around. Bottom line.. Chavis is capable.

Someone brought up attendance at the Furman game. I am also interested to see what that turnout will be like. I wouldnt expect it to be a packed house. And I think it would be pretty abandoned after halftime. No way this game gets on national television though.

That might be the best we can hope for--and it's now one of the premier bowls since it left the shitty actual Cotton Bowl in a shitty neighborhood where people get their cars towed when they park for the game.
