Totally agree he's a good man, but this is more of a business decision......and the business of coaching college football to the level expected at LSU has passed him by. I just don't see him getting it together and making a drastic enough change to his entire game coaching/calling philosophy to return to a national championship level.......but I do respect him and I'm greatful to have had him as a coach if in fact he goes.
yeah they always do that to coaches who they think are getting fired. the producers must demand it. its unsettling.
Great post & spot on. As I wrote elsewhere I don't see the buyout as an issue. Hiring his replacement could be an issue unless Alleva has the brains and the backing of the TAF fat cats to hire a nationally respected search firm.
There won't be a search firm. The new coach has already been selected. We just have to wait a while longer to see who it is.
I take it that's a hunch on your part? Don't take it personally, but I would be surprised if that was the case.
I wouldn't be surprised but I'd be impressed. This may have been brewing a while. Curious to see if Alleva deserves the flack so many LSU fans give him for Duke. Hope the dude is quality, he is critical to football's future. Unlike so many legends, a move now would be extremely well timed for Les and the program, would require testicular fortitude, and would hopefully be executed with poise. My hope in Les has been dashed (though I echo the sentiment of many that Miles has done great things for LSU) I've moved on to hoping that Alleva can make a truly bold and poigniant move.
