He can't learn enough of Cam Cameron's extensive playbook to be effective, can't read defenses, can't get past the first read, is not accurate and is too hot with many of his passes. Not SEC West/SEC Championship caliber. Neither is Jennings. What about McMillan or Etling? (Don't know. No evidence) The new HC would be well advised (And I'm sure LSU fans will advise him) to recruit QB's that can do this. It all starts here!
I know I'm not the first that said it, but it's been over since January 2012. It's only been a matter of how long Les would hold on. Losing to a coach and a team as good as Bama is one thing. Losing barely crossing midfield with an offense play sheet that looked like a spinner on a Twister board, refusing to put in somebody, ANYBODY, even when it was obvious the game was probably lost. The rumors of JJ at Harrah's casino. Rumors of infighting. The mass exodus of players after that game. My guess is that books will be written in the future about that game. Something was just not right. You could feel it. It's been over for a long time. It's been a steady decline since that moment. The cupboard still has some food in it, so now is the time to make the move. Holding on to Miles because of the upcoming recruiting class would be a HUGE mistake. Get a high profile coach. Some recruits might change their mind, but my guess is that a high profile coach with a proven record can convince these kids that LSU can win, and can win quickly. For one, LF is still a Tiger for another year. That's a good reason right there. Who knows, somebody who has read "Offensive Football for Dummies" might think it's a good idea to throw LF a pass occasionally....
Miles is indoctrinated like a muslim to radical islam. Except with Bo Schembechlers playbook and philosophy. He turns to it in his time of need and desperation. then forces our qb to wear a suicide vest, sneaking up to our o-line then imploding our offense on national tv on a weekly basis. Bo Schmebechler 101 is Les Miles' Qur'an. Hes been idolizing a false prophet which has led directly to his demise. It has failed him. I will pray for his soul. and his secret playbook.
Getting tunnel vision on an established "name" can often result in overlooking the next big thing. Florida hired Spurrier from Duke, of all places. Pete Carroll had zero meaningful NCAA experience pre-USC. Urban Meyer came to the SEC from Utah.
Schembechler never won a National Championship and was 2-8 in Rose Bowls, so what's to idolize? He did have a winning record (5-4-1) against Woody Hayes and Ohio St. though.
