Read tirk's post in another thread about how sophisticated Jimbo's offense has become now that he is calling the shots. Three of his QB's at FSU have been first round picks. Discount what JaMarcus did once he got to the NFL but it was Jimbo who prepared him to be the #1 pick
I just don't like the fact LSU would have to pay him about a million more than Miles is getting to get him here, and then nothing is written in stone about what kind of success he'd have here. On the flip side tho, the guy can develop QB's, and it wouldn't need to be a huge turn around to get the offense to become a unit better than we've seen under Miles since '08. The big question mark would be defense, like last nights Ark/MooU game, what good is scoring 50 pts if you can't stop the other side from scoring 51? The biggest consolation prize in terms of an instant win bringing in Jimbo would be salvaging our recruiting class, and maybe pull a surprise QB or 2.
I read it yesterday. I think Jimbo would be a quality high profile hire, I just wouldn't be as excited about the offense as I would with some of the other candidates, not even close.
Can't say I hate him, but I can't say I like him either. The letter to the public thing a few years ago was a bullshit move. He needs to get this right or the next change should include him.
I doubt that a 8 - 4 record with a balanced offense will find you satisfied. Also, as the guy who runs the best recruiting threads I'm guessing you will be looking for at lease top 10 and some top 5 classes at a minimum.
This is exactly what I think. Unfortunately, I think Les will be here 2016. 15 mil will keep him here to see if it can be spared. Maybe he gets an ultimatum. But, I just think he will be staying.
