Maybe he'll look happier if he takes Alleva's job. He deserved so much better than the way this has gone down. Les is a class act.
No fucking way I want Miles as AD... he'd handicap the new HC because he replaced him, and tell him he better not score more than X amount of points more then the opponent as to not hurt their feelings.
I think he knows the ride is over. I hate that it ends this way because he really is a good guy, but it needs to end.
Looks like a beaten man. Who wouldn't look like that after the intense pressure and scrutiny he's been under? I may think the game has passed him by and think it's time for a change, but I hate that it's come to this.
Did you see Archer and Dinardo on their way out? Very similar if you ask me. It's not a pleasant thing to be forced to leave something you've invested so much of your life in. Coaches at that level spend the majority of their life on the job.
Unless he's just delusional, I guess he should've evolved or adapted his coaching philosophy if he loved LSU so much. While I wish him the best of luck, I don't feel sorry for him because of $4.5M reasons a year, and a parting gift of $15M. hell even the wicked witch of the West Saban has evolved and changed the way he does things... good coaches tend to do that.
Also, he'd hire friends and allow them to stay too long. He hasn't exactly been a success at hiring coordinators. Not sure this could have gone down much smoother (unless it gets worse).
He'd also have to work much more closely with the BoS in his capacity as an AD instead of an HC. And it's apparent that it's a highly acrimonious relationship. Maybe tensions would cool down with a new HC in place and with the new governor making new appointments to the board, but as long as Alleva is keeping the AD making money hand over fist, there's little reason to make this move.
