It was ultimately fitting that Bo Wallace lost this game for Ole Miss

That kind of attitude, I bet you never finished Joyce's Ulysses, either.... just what are you teaching you fifth grade English students, anyway?

7th and 8th grade students--but it certainly isn't Ulysses. Gack.

    Say it ain't so Bo...
Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace questioned the team’s play-calling Monday after a frustrating performance in the Rebels’ loss to LSU.

Wallace finished just 14 of 33 for 176 yards, one score and an interception. According to reports, Wallace expressed some frustration during Monday’s media availability.

Wallace has struggled his last two times out, completing less than 50 percent of his passes against Tennessee and LSU. The Rebels’ senior quarterback admitted to letting the environment dictating how he and his offense played, but said the Rebels have to be more aggressive on early downs.

“I think a lot of times we’re throwing the ball right now and it’s third down,” Wallace said. “It’s easy (for the defense) when you know its coming on third-and-9, third-and-long. It’s hard in this league to convert third downs as well as people play third-down defense.

“We have to get back to throwing the ball on first and second down and get back to making plays like we did earlier in the season.”

Third downs have been a huge problem for Ole Miss thus far this season. The Rebels converted on just five of 17 third downs against LSU on Saturday, that coming off a two for 10 effort against Tennessee.

Prior to Saturday night’s loss in Baton Rouge, Ole Miss ranked eighth in the SEC in third down conversions. Wallace and company have been one-dimensional on offense all season, hiding the lack of a running game with stellar defensive play. As well as it has played, the Ole Miss defense has spent a lot of time on the field.

“It’s hard to say if it hurt us,” Wallace said when asked whether or not Ole Miss played conservatively and leaned too much on its defense. “You know I want to be more aggressive, but that’s on the coaches and what they call. Hopefully we can be more aggressive this week, but I’m going to run the plays that are called, that’s all I can do.”

The task gets more difficult this week with No. 4 Auburn coming to Oxford. Wallace said he knows the Rebels will have a good game plan in order to get back in the win column.

“We talk every day about [the play-calling],” Wallace said. “I know that we’re going to have a good plan. I know we’re on the same page and we’ll both be ready to go.”

Funny when I was 18 I ended up at a rave after party in New Orleans and they were passing a plate around with Peruvian flake on the plate and I too gave up 5 lines in. :)
