I have a 21 yr. old child and I have noticed more than once that this generation is lost. They seem to search so hard for a way to be different. They even look to the past for a new way to be remembered. It is scary how smart they are yet they are a bunch of dumbazzes than can starve to death with money in their pockets at a Mcdonalds. I blame the democrats.

this. and if some of the people that pay way above and beyond the taf fees complain to alleva, the band will be ordered to stop playing "neck" faster than some drunk little punk trying to act big can say "tiger privates".

oh, and think you can chant whatever you want as a student at a university event? last time i checked, there was a code of conduct for students, and this is a university event. wouldnt bother me a bit if a few were tossed if identified on complaints.

ive seen adults that paid a helluva lot more tossed from a game for being drunk obnoxious azzholes. dont see why the same shouldnt happen to students.

I WORK THE GAMES...I CAN' T JUST MOVE TO ANOTHER SPOT.

Most of the people who are in my section have season tickets. Have been there for years and there isn't anyplace to move. Why should they stop coming to games because some morons want to chant vulgarities? They have just as much right to be there as any student. That "student entitlement" argument is BS.

LSU does have a code of student conduct. None of which says "I'm allowed to conduct myself in an immature manner and and say whatever I please at LSU football games no matter who I offend".

Commitment to Community | Student Advocacy & Accountability

I lump the students in as a whole and maybe it's wrong but nearly the entire 2-3 sections I was near were well engaged in the chant. When some of the "adults" in the crowd objected, nearly half in the general vicinity of those that objected stopped and some apologized. So if it is such a "right" why apologize? Just say funk off and keep on doing what you are doing.

It's argued that you can't police it. I beg to differ. This is no different than the cup throwing that goes on. If you get caught you are thrown out and banned from further games. You can't smoke or run naked down the aisle. It is your "right" to do these things but doing them in certain situations is unlawful. If the university decides to police it then it will be done.

As for doing something about it...maybe I can. Watch for it... :yelwink2:

Your life must be a real snoozer old man. And yeah, since I like to go out and party until 4 in the morning on Friday night, wake up at 8 a.m. on Saturday get frat drunk again and then go to the game and have a good time makes me an idiot.

Yes, LSU should definitely raise their admission standards. It was far too easy to get out of state tuition waived.

You probably didn't even attend LSU, but you buy the t-shirts at Wal-Mart and call yourself a fan. Go frick yourself.

    just for the record....

i hope some student asses get tossed for it. as i stated before

my tuition dollars (my. i paid my way through, not mommy and daddy.) went to lsu. my diploma is from lsu. my taf fees go to lsu. not to mention my ticket payments. and then there are the occasional donations to university departments/specific fundraisers.

sorr pg, the "i pay tuition" doesnt hold water. there are plenty of kids (or their parents) that can take your place in paying tuition. especially as the university is having to make cuts and will be turning away students. i can guarantee you that the university wants to keep donors happy and keep every last one they can get. if you ever graduate you will know this. there is no witness protection program that the alumni association cant crack in an effort to try to get a donation for the university.

neither does the "you probably didnt even go to school there" if you think that of all who believe the students are being asses. see above. i abhor the behavior that i think portrays a bad image of my alma mater.

Sounds like such a fufilling, meaningful life. Binge drinking, killing brain cells and singing about Tiger dicks.

I think it all goes back to when spanking fell out of favor. Wonder if thats what happened to Rome?

You turn 18, you leave home, and don't have any responsibility. I would say over 75% of LSU students do not pay for tuition (TOPS) OR rent, car insurance, fraternity dues, etc. It is VERY different from what it was 15-20+ years ago, which I think a lot of the members here are alums from.

You suddenly don't have any authority around you, and it becomes cool to do things "adults" find inappropriate. You can curse in public now with no repercussions. Drinking is wide-scale and encouraged.

I don't like it, but there is nothing anyone can do except stop playing the song. You will not get kids to listen unless there are consequences. And this is not a grave enough issue for there to BE consequences.

And yes, the college students here are going to blast me for calling them kids, but I was a kid until I was about 21 or 22. I can look back and see this and I always considered myself a very mature person.

I really do not understand the uproar about this. It's a word...get over it. Hell, I hear worse coming out of fans in my section all the way across from the student section. The difference? 18,000 are chanting it in unison...and there is no way 18,000 students are going to get booted for a chant.

It's like a different story every week here...first, the stadium nowadays is just a "shell of itself" with boosters and old fogies buying up all the great seats, now its too rambunctious and vulgar. What do you want? As I said before, the student section is the life of Tiger football. Why do you think, on a coin toss, LSU chooses to defend towards the student section?

I was in section 418 and every time special teams tried to pump up the crowd on our end only about 50 people would stand up and cheer...it's severely lacking.

As said before, what are you preaching for? Did you post a rant just to get a bunch of "YEA, I agree! Something needs to be done!" or do you really feel that the AD is going to personally come on this board and demand a change in attitude for the student section?

Get real, this post should have placed in the Sidelines..this has nothing to do with football.
