We had so many opportunities to score, take the lead and win this game.
The defense played well in this game!

They can still finish 9-3, very respectable...and the 3 losses were somewhat anticipated. I put the blame on Lee, primarily, but Crowton made bonehead calls with the first pick in the 1st qtr with the call for an over the middle throw- weakness for Lee, and the run was working well at that point. Then again with 2:20 left in the game on third and three on our end of the field, he has Lee throw the ball over the middle instead of handing off to CS. A penalty then forces a short punt with about 1:30 left. ALA should have won then, but our D comes through. Then the "wild hog" call in OT was horrible; once again trying to get too cute. The rollout throw in OT wasn't necessarily a bad call, but Lee made another poor decision.

If it's not there, don't throw it. How many freaking games has it been?!

Here's another thing I bet no one noticed, or wanted to notice. There was a play where Lee looked like he was going to pick up the first, but he wimped out, tossed the ball up toward Williams and turned his back as if he was going to get hit. That shows to me that he's not willing to put his neck on the line for the team. He could've had the first or very close, but throws it away.

    Weak.

I did see that, he could've picked up the first down easy, plenty of room to slide.

LSU needed at least one victory against a ranked team and squandered an opportunity once again. Georgia should have lost but Pick Six gave them TWO pick sixes which is the first time I have ever seen that happen. Now Alabama was given 14 points one from another pick six. LSU had every opportunity to blow out Alabama and instead gets a big L.
With that rant over three things I need from Les:

    1. PUT Jefferson in. You're not going to the SECCG so hang up any Title or BCS bowl game and you might as well put in a kid who may be what this team needs. Hopefully he can end the 3 consecutive weeks with a pick six.

    2. Get a real Defensive coordinator. Yyes the D looked decent but there is too much talent on that D not to be a top 5 defense.

    3. What are you going to do to win in OT? LSU has what one victory in OT since Les been there yet 4 or 5 losses in OT.

There is a truckload of talent on that team and with that much talent I need to see Ws against ranked teams and no more blowouts.

The most disappointing thing about Lee is he hasn't improved at all with reading defenses or checking down to his 2nd option. He never tries to throw the ball away when the play isn't there. He has absolutely no field awareness. He is missing some fundamentals that make a great QB, unfortunately, and it's all mental. I believe he is really weak mentally.

So from that standpoint, we must see what JJ has to offer.

We can't go into 09 with only Lee having gametime experience.

I can understand CLM's reluctance to play JJ today. Seemed logical to get him some reps (other than the very last possession) vs Tulane last week. As poorly as Lee has played, at what other times during this year should JJ have played? Hatch went down in the UGA game two weeks ago, so let's give CLM the benefit of the doubt concerning playing JJ.

Next week is another story, though...
