Notre Dame routinely refused to go to bowls from 1925 to 1969. In 1969 they decided to reverse their stance on post season play and accepted a bid to the Cotton Bowl to play top ranked Texas. LSU, ranked 5th, wanted to go to the Cotton to play in a quasi National Championship game but never got an invitation. Instead, LSU received invitations to the Bluebonnet and Liberty bowls but turned both of them down.

LSU fans will travel to Houston en mass, even disgruntled fans.

They will not travel to Nashville, Memphis, Tampa, Jacksonville, or Charlotte very well.

LA Tech did.... just 2 years ago. There was some miscommunication between them and a couple of bowls. I don't remember which bowls were in play. But I believe, Tech was slow-playing bowl A while waiting to hear back from another bowl. Bowl A in turn, invited another team, which was accepted, and Bowl B chose another team and Tech got left out. Think they won 9 games that year. Sonny Dykes last year there.

I just got back from Memphis, not sure what good food you are talking about. My new daughter in law is from right outside Memphis, they all go to Nashville for a good time.

Care to share anyplace specific or is it all good in general. My new daughter in law is from McKenzie which is outside Memphis. They hang out in Jackson and Nashville mostly. I go there from time to time and love some good BBQ, if there is a specific place.

Actually my sons wife is from Oxford and they are big Ole Miss family. Her Mom and brothers relocated to McKenzie because her dads family is from there. Got over 1000 acres with horses and farms, etc. They are all accounting graduates from UM and own a restaurant off campus like Walk-Ons at LSU. So far the house has been peaceful, but time will tell. She is already threating to make my grandkids Ole Miss fans, but I don't see it happening.
