So since midway through the 3rd quarter except for knee jerking and bitching up a storm with you. I have literally been in Radio silence. I have ignored emails from friends about the game, not spoken to any non-LSU people about it. Nothing. Pretending I am interested in sports and football as much as a Nigerian pirate. i have not watched CNN or MSNBC, gone to a single website related to sports, I havent even considered watching ESPN and I have not looked at any sport sections. I have been in complete lock down. When I got home from the game I immediately deleted the recording of the game from my DVR as quickly as I could. In the hotel lobby yesterday in my hotel they had ESPN on and Saban was on and I walked over and turned it off. Today in the hotel I picked up USA Today. Not a single article about the game we dare not speak of or pictures of the other team. Nothing. It was great... Its good to be back in the world.
At halftime the other night, I deleted the first half from my dvr. With two minutes to go in the "game," I deleted the second half, along with about 12 hours worth of pregame "hype" I'd missed while I was at work on Monday. It was like a spiritual cleansing.
I tried that on Tuesday, but it only made me feel worse. I had to actually engage the Gumps around here instead of retreating. In fact, I called into the local radio show and tried to give some perspective from our side, which I rarely do. It helped more than I expected. Now, I have to work on not getting so emotionally tied in in the first place. That's a much tougher fight and one I am sure to lose. GEAUX TIGERS HAVE A GREAT DAY!
I did the same. Felt like I was "taking out the trash." No reason to review the game: zero highlights, nothing memorable (unless you want to call getting past the 50 yard line "memorable"). "Nightmare On Sugar Bowl Drive"
