I feel more confident now than I did before, and I have renewed appreciation for The Hat and the coaching staff's ability to shake things up. Well done. Probably one of our weaker teams in past years (because of our QB sit), and we freaking beat Auburn at Auburn.

I definitely noticed this during the game but wouldn't dare say anything as to not jinx us. That was huge. We don't win this game if we have 8 more penalties.

It definitely seems to be something we've been working on. The Alem late hit call was the result of him playing balls-out to win. Even though those types of penalties are costly, I'd rather have a hard-hitting, overly aggressive defense than the other way around.

I thought the late hit was a legit call more so for hitting the QB so low and it was a little late although you can't fault Alem too much for going "balls out" as Stacey so aptly put it.

The one Tubby was crying about would have been total bullcrap.

And to think if they had cheated and gave it to them, it would have been 1st and 10 at the LSU 28. Egad!

    Screw you Tubby.

Gotta admit (as I'm sure most of you were too), I was holding my breath waiting for it; especially since it happened right in front of their bench and Tubby was lobbying so hard for it. To make matters worse, on one replay angle, I saw a yellow piece of paper on the ground and thought he threw it 30 seconds after the play was over (ala tOSU-Miami). I was about to come unglued until I saw the O trotting on to the field.

Indeed. A couple of silly personal fouls that shouldn't have happened, but otherwise a huge improvement over last season.

Especially exciting is that Coach Stud has his offensive line hitting on all cylinders. Stacy Searles offensive lines never seemed to be abe to count to "Hut 3".

I had only 2 issues with the refs last night:
Thought the out-of-bounds hit on Sheppard was bs. He started to throw him while he was in-bounds and the momentum continued ob. A no-call, IMO, though not as ridiculously bad as some we've seen in the past.

And did AU have any penalties at all, other than the offsetting personal fouls call?

Awesomeness. The team is really clicking. If the QB play continues on this trajectory, LSU will be difficult to beat this year in any venue.
