I'm not sure anyone here doesn't already believe they are lowest form of human scum on this planet. I just feel we should be pressuring our allies in the region to their own trash out.

We should find a bridge with Putin on this and open a can of international hell fire, from every direction.

If the Iraqis and Syrians and all of the other Arab states are not willing to fight for themselves, damned if we should go and do it for them. We are giving them training and airpower support. They need to get out and fight ISIS themselves.

All of the muslims trying to kill each other rather than us is a good thing.

No, better to give each of them all the RAID they can handle.

Think big. We solved the decades-long conflict between Israel and Egypt by getting into position to arm both sides. It gave us leverage over both sides and made them both dependent on us to go to war. And the peace has held for decades. Meanwhile we made profits by buying them American technology and let them do their own defense. We did the same with Jordan. We sell stuff to the wealthy gulf states and Saudi Arabia for the same reason. It gives us leverage over the region. Right now the only important countries in the Middle east that are not in the US procurement orbit are Syria, which is falling apart, and Iran, who is in desperate shape from the sanctions. Iran has a 40-year old obsolete air force and navy from the weapons embargoes and feels threatened by Russia and Israel. If Iran carries out its treaty obligations, they will soon be engaging in free market acquisition of a new generation of military weaponry. We will be in competition with the Euros but if we could get into position to supply them like we once did it would give us much leverage over whole region without having to invade countries that we don't like.

That's a dangerous game my friend...i am not an advocate of this piece meal crap we have been doing for 20 years or more over there. i suggest we eradicate the roaches in the neighbors house before they migrate to ours.

However we have no stomach for that so i believe what you propose is where we are heading in any event...either it works out or we will just have given them all they need to start a bigger conflict which we will be drawn into.

These particular roaches can't hurt us here and it would be a great christmas present for them to go there and engage in a knife fight with them on their turf. It's just what they want and they got nuthin' we need. They can't even threaten Israel who is just next door.

ISIS is a problem for Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, the Gulf States, and Israel. We arm these countries to the teeth to defend themselves. Now it is their time to do so. Americans are tired of fighting other peoples wars when they aren't willing to fight themselves. It not a matter of having the stomach for fighting, we have proved that we can take down countries and occupy them for as long as we want. We still hit terrorists hard wherever we find them. Its a matter of having the brains to know when its our fight and when its not.

If people should learn anything from Vietnam and Iraq it is that wars do not solve all problems, some allies are not worth defending, democracy can't be imposed on people, and occupying a hostile population will only result in an endless guerrilla war.

We deal with ISIS by isolating them from their sources of money, supplies, and recruits, arm their local enemies to the teeth, deprive them of the support the are getting internally by making life miserable there, and wait for them to get weak enough to collapse or for their local enemies to remove them.

I don't advocate putting our guys in harms way. I just believe we should eradicate the roaches before they multiply... that can be done with mass carpet bombing whenever they show thier ass.
