You should think it is early. If LSU sees an offer is worthy they will still be very much in the race.

yea you right... just seems we are letting some real good players slip away early on. I do trust The Hat though, so I will not pass judgement until this time next year lol

12 months is a lot of time. LSU prefers to see players firsthand, and for good reason. they passed on CMichael b/c he never came to camp (and maybe other behind the scenes reasons that I am not privy too). He seemed a great prospect coming out of HS, and seems a solid player for A&M, so did we miss out? maybe, but there are others that did come to camp, and were not heralded that we did take. LSU coaches saw them, liked their potential, and the rest is history (Mathieu, and Claiborne). So, if they took Michael, then maybe a spot for Mathieu's not there? can't worry about spilt milk, amigo. LSUs a top program, and there are many top recruits we will take, many we will miss out on, and many we will not choose. We are clearly in good hands with our current coaching staff's ability to evaluate talent, and recruit. Everything will be fine, with or without this guy.

I will never argue we a top program lol... I guess I'm just a sucker for kids that really like LSU lol. I want kids on the team that bleed purp & gold and have been doing so for almost their whole lives... but on the most part, those dont turn out to be the best players lol. And I am in no way a "talent evaluator", so maybe the coaches saw something in Wilson they didnt like.

It just seems like there are a lot of recruits out there that are very interested in our program, but complain about LSU's lack of communication/responses. And then it looks like we may lose out on lots of top LA kids again (Diarse, DeSean Smith, Dobard, Rickey Jefferson etc... possibly Tim Williams and Santa-Marina too). We are a top program, and should have a great shot at landing any recruit in the country, especially LA kids. Need to build that fence back up around the boot lol.

And I do like Connor Mitch from NC and Hunter Bivin from KY a lot too. Plus we are heavily targeting TX this year, it seems. I have FAITH that it will all work out!! Geaux Tigers!!

I hear you. I certainly prefer and appreciate guys who have longed to be at LSU, bleed purple and gold, no doubt. As you are aware, not all signings will be that way. I doubt we would include Big Sam and Mettenberger in that category, for example. But, I am glad they are Tigers.

That is because a majority of the players want to hear from all the big schools and that is good for LSU. LSU knows way ahead of time who they want to have contact with out of the gate. Then some players have impressive camps and HS seasons and more prospects hit the radar. Or some players fall off the big board and they want more backup plans on it. Something that will not likely change.
