You know i was just about to come and defend what i posted because it is a bit 1 sided. Yes Obama does it to, but i see it more from the right.

 

Like it or not our government no longer does what is in the best interest of the people. Neither right wing nor left wing are looking out for the American public. They are looking out for their own interests and what will line their pockets. The day of the public exercising our constitutional right to have complete change in our government will unfortunately never be realized. The system is stacked against the voting public and not enough believe their voice really matters. The only difference that can be made starts and ends with the American people. Unfortunately not enough people realize this. The ideals that built this country have become obsolete and have gone to the wayside of the agendas of the politicians.

 

I totally agree with you and that is why i have stated over and over and over, in this forum that without Political reform nothing is going to change for the better.
I'm pretty sure the country is lost to special interest as well as the political class meaning people with power and money will have privilege while everyone else will not.

 

in general i buy the premise, we are definitely going downhill in terms of growth of government. it never seems to get any smaller. will we get smart and actually lower taxes and spending somebody? i dunno.

at any given time we can look back 50 years and those people then would be stunned by how big government is now. and nothing is ever reversed. we have social security and it is huge and terrible and isnt going anywhere, and we are getting health care crap and who knows if it can ever be reversed. and people are looking for problems to solve with government, always.

i agree that this is a big problem and i dunno what to do. elect a less crazy version of ron paul perhaps? we need a big change in terms of how big a role we think the government should play. but the tendency for people is like to control everything, and never to realize that there are too many unintended consequences.

One group in this country has continued to rank at the bottom of nearly every category. For much of their history they had great reason to be there. As every year passes and other groups start with less and accomplish more, the argument becomes less and less valid.

As each new program is created and every new opportunity presented, the argument becomes less valid.

With each new first time accomplishment, the argument becomes less valid. Yet after decades of opportunities and programs designed to elevate the status, we still find one group at the bottom.

I think it's sickening but just like an alcoholic, you can't do anything for them until they decide to do something first. As long as this continues to be the largest predictable voting demographic, then you can guarantee their vote will continue to be taken for granted and only honored during election time.

Sit back and watch the election campaigning and then tell me if I'm wrong.

To me this is second worse atrocity on the all-time list behind slavery. Being used and taken advantage of is sad. It's even worse when people are taught to believe this is a good thing.

Who burned down Los Angeles?

Who wrote "Black Owned" on buildings to avoid having them torched?

Who cleaned up the mess after it was over?

Who finanaced the reconstruction?

Which race suffered the most fatalities?

Who killed most of the people who died during the riots?

Who did the Korean store owners (on their rooftops) have their rifles pointed at?

I was there so I don't need your revisionist history to tell me what to believe.


Regarding your other asinine comments.

I had season tickets for the Hornets. I know exactly who was spewing the shyt and causing the problems. I quit going. It's my choice...get over it.

I've lived in/around New Orleans most of my life. I know exactly who causes most of the problems, crime, etc. in the city. Draw your conclusions but facts ARE facts.

We have serious race problems in this country...especially with one race. Until we stop pretending it's one sided and stop with the double standards, this race will continue to be at the bottom. Not due to anybody's fault but their own.
