What about Mauck, he started it....is he Asian? Seriously Hester is still the best followed by Mauck but White is moving up quickly. He embodies everything Mauck and Hester did.
When Mauck wore 18 the number wasn't a big thing. I think it was Hester who gave the number it's status and tradition. I'm sure there were lots of players who wore 18 before Mauck. Maybe there should be 2 players wearing 18. 1 offense and 1 defense. Tre White is the best defensive player to wear it.
Hester and it's not even that close. Tre might catch him by the end of the year if he continues to score though.
To me it is what you do on the field sure but Hester just had the guts and heart that you can't teach at all. The work ethic and the embodiment of hard work pays off was what I remember Hester for.
How do we know White or Logan didn't have that? I think Hester was bad ass but I also think he gets more love because he was a white dude playing running back.
