Everyone. It's some sort of stupid fashion thing and I try to tell people you are going to wish you didn't have your jeans tucked into your boots when you spill a chemical and it goes inside your shoes.
We disagreed with the Vietnam War, the suppression of civil rights, the pollution of the environment, the refusal of the WWII generation to accept Boomer lifestyle changes, the inequality afforded to women, soldiers shooting students on campus, religion in government, marijuana laws, suppression of freedom of speech, lots more. You know all of this. We wanted cultural change so we created a counter-culture. We smoked dope because we wanted to get high and to piss off The Man. We wore our hair long because the girls liked it, honestly. But also to show a commitment to the lifestyle and distinguish ourselves from the weekend hippies and the straights. You can wear a tie-dyed shirt at a rock concert on sunday and then go back to your job at the munitions plant on Monday. But you don't grow 20-inch hair overnight.
No shit, I spilled some shit once, zinc bromide I belive, didn't have my pants tucked into my converse high tops or anything the stuff just fell on my shoes. Next morning they were folded in half like a damn taco, glad I got them off in time.
Just a funny story and not a shot at you - my dad was deploying to Vietnam on the USS Coral Sea and they were leaving out of San Francisco. A bunch of your fellow counter-culture travelers showed up to spit, throw rocks and other things off of the Golden Gate Bridge. Since it had happened before the Captain was aware and they fully blasted the stacks as they cruised under the bridge. (It was the last of the conventional powered carriers in service) Not a lot of crap got thrown that day.
We need to take a moment and stop talking about black crime and focus on white on white crime. Shits getting out of hand when I can't go to Twin Peaks without worrying if a gun fight is going to break out.
So to keep with this thread where are all the white people calling these bikers thugs? I mean that's what they are and I'm not talking about anyone on this board. But has anyone seen anyone call them thugs like the looters in Baltimore, or Trayvon Martin or Freddy Gray? And whatever happened to fighting with your fists? It's a miracle no non gang members were killed.
It goes without saying the the bikers are thugs as much as the looters and rioters. The difference is that for the most part biker gang members are career criminals engaged in organized crime, ie drugs, prostitution, extortion, robbery, ect. for profit. The shootings in Waco were gang rivalry related wheras looting is spur of the moment thuggery by unorganized thugs.
They are thugs and they have their fair share of posers as well. One could argue that in some circles "biker"="thug" ="trash" or criminal or guilty by appearance. If you think people of all race don't judge bikers based on what they look like you've really got your head in the sand.
