They came in to Death Valley undefeated and beat the defending national champs and left undefeated. What more do you want them to do? Your statement can be taken as dissing LSU, that's for sure.
Do you honestly believe that LSU is playing up to its potential? if not than who is to blame? (This is the first season that a CLM team has given up 50 pts in a game since he left OSU. Is it just chance that Sabans players are gone?( I dont know the answer but I think its worth asking). Who is to blame for the awful Defense this season? You cant blame Peveto or Mallory cause they were offered a golden egg and they took it. You cant blame the young DBs.... The ALL STAR front line can not crack an egg. Who is to blame for the QB situation? EVERYBODY knew RP was a huge risk, Why was their no back up plan in case RP could not make it at LSU. (a decent JUCO QB would be nice right now.) Who is to blame for JJ not getting enough playing time to prepare him for next season, (Lee is not the QB that LSU needs....He is a good kid and he has a lot of heart) What should we say next season when everyone finds out that RS is not ready for the SEC? I ALWAYS want LSU to WIN! I dont care who the coach is. I like CLM but if you agree or not he made some costly mistakes in the offseason and I hope it is not the beginning of a new "ERA". I have never claimed to be as educated as most of you are ( I never sat 1 day in a college class and I know it shows...so I hope I stated my concerns more clearly.) When I would question Smoke Laval I would get a lot of little red dots... When I posted Saban was going to Miami approx 3 months before he left I got a lot of little red dots. When I would bash John Brady I got more little red dots. It seems sometimes my NEGATIVE post were with good reason. ( I am not claiming to always be right... I have made horrible post out of emotion " LSU will not win another game" after the loss to UF 03. LOL Sorry that I offended everyone at Tiger forums. Dude your right ...GOD is not gay and your violet and yellow thingy is cool with me. To the other guy you dont have enough money to chip in for me to join the Bama Board. lol:tigereye:
So, you are a glass half empty type. That's cool, but I think you just go a little overboard and that's why you invite negative responses. Everyone here is aware that Lee is not cutting it, but most try to analyze the situation and try and figure out what the coaches are going to do about it and, in some cases, what the coaches should do about it. Your angle is to assume that everything is FUBAR and the program is crashing in flames. When we come here after a loss, no one wants to read that crap. "The coaches suck, the defense sucks, the DL sucks, the QB sucks and By God someone has to pay" is not real reader friendly IMO. Just my 2 cents.
No the team isn't playing up to its potential. Miles recruiting classes have been every bit as good as Sabans, so no it has absolutely nothing to do with Sabans players being gone. The Co-D's has not worked and we are missing anything that even closely resembles a QB and we will still finish in the top 20. Miles is having a wonderful year recruiting and the coaching staff will find a QB eventually. Then hopefully those that are still clinging to Sabans crotch can finally let it go.
dttf, now that is a respectible response. Glass half empty approach as Sabanfan stated, but still a good devils advocate analysis. Many may not like it , but when the logic is spelled out, constructive critiscism can be beneficial.
I would not worry this year. It is a learning year. Worry next year if it has not improved. Every team has growing pains.
Well yeah, I do. LSU can't be a national championship contender in each and every season, not in the SEC, damn it. We lost 8 players to the NFL plus our MVP starting quarterback to Hip Hop and we can still finish 10-3. Four straight double-digit seasons is playing damn strong football. We all do, dantheangryfan. Children expect to get candy every time they want it and cry loudly when they don't. Adults have to be more pragmatic.
