All year long this team is called the most talented team in the country but yet they are oh so close to being a four loss team. Good teams or well coached teams get better as the year goes on and we never saw that from this team. So is this team not as talented as a lot of people think or is the talent there and it's the coaching that's lacking?
They are very talented...It is debatable if they really are the most talented team...But, we had to deal with a bunch of injuries, very high expectations, and plenty of distractions...They can deny it all they want, but the Michigan thing was just too much of a distraction, especially on a short week like this one.
Every team deals with injuries, every high profile team deals with high expectations and the Miles to Michigan rumor is just an excuse.
We are a very talented teamn. I don't know if we were the top in the country. I personally feel coaching was lacking all around through the second half of the season.
Might be an excuse, but it does affect the players...You remember the Saban thing don't you??? I'm sure the 25 seniors on the team remember it better than you do...You're right every team deals with injuries, but usually the team with the fewest injuries wins out.
Just don't think the Saban thing cost us any games nor do I believe the rumor cost us today. Instead it was Pelini's inability to come up with a scheme to stop a one dimensional team.
The rumor didn't do anything??? Did you see the first half??? There was no intensity and passion..Even the CBS announcers said it...I don't think the players weren't hungry enough..They didn't execute when they had to...Just can't blame the coaches all the time...At some point players need to make plays...Can't blame Pellini or Miles for all the bad throws that Flynn had in the first half, or the penalty on Doucet that cost us a TD.
