Everyone agrees that Les played musical freshman too early and took the foot off the gas a bit too soon. But before that happened, we looked a great deal better. Playing from ahead has never been a strong suit of Les Miles. That said, I saw plenty of positive.
last year everyone b*tched how Les never plays freshman..this season everyone b*itches we played the freshman....somethings never change
See my post on perspective before you jump down my throat. LSU was unfairly maligned on ESPN last night. Even with UNC's loss of 13 players they were better than Florida's opponent, Ut St the awesome team that Ok snuck by or Jacksonville state Ole Missus's humbler and other supposed top 25 powers. How about TCU blasting of unranked Or St? Did we look good? Not really at least not as we should have. Should we be in the top 25 HELL YES. In the top 20 yep, In the top 15 maybe. Are we the 15-20th best team in the country who knows? Few teams can bee accurately rated till after 4-6 games.
But Les doesnt play freshman..... LOL, I guess when he does, he gets burnt for it. I know in some spots, freshman had to play, But I did see that most of our starters on D came out after half. Obvious bad call. whatever. At least they got PT and will prob learn from this game if nothing else.
The same people who are griping about taking our foot off the gas are the same ones who would be griping if we had thrown a pick 6 with a 20 pt. lead, or lost RS or PP by playing them when the game looked to be under control. I wasn't as frustrated with the coaching as much as the players blowing simple execution (fumbling, blown assignments, etc.) & questionable penalties (holding, the onside kick). If that had been Sean Payton on the sideline we would never even hear about it being a coaching issue. The trolls and negaters on here are the same dumbA's who wanted Saban fired in 2001 after losing to Ole Miss.
Anyone think maybe Will Blackwell's season-ending injury might have made early substitutions sound like a good idea to the coaching staff? It's something I was wondering about. Seems CLM can't win with the fans - play the freshmen = catch Hell from fans. Don't play the freshmen = catch Hell from fans. Can't have it both ways. I DO think the subs should wait till fourth quarter and I also think that although 20 is a nice lead, the subs shouldn't come in till the margin is greater. But that's just my opinion. :geaux:
