Big question, is there always controversy with LSU? Back in 03 when we won the BCS we had to split our NC w/ USC. Basically saying, LSU, ya'll are good but not the best. And again this year. The media just kills me saying LSU is not the best team and again we should have split with USC because they are the best team. Fact of the matter is we never seem hear that when any other team wins a NC. Did anyone say that last year when Florida won? NO, but I can say LSU was probably playing the best football in the country at the end of last year. I know the media says this stuff just for ratings but you have to play the cards you are dealt and the cards this year were LSU vs. OSU for the NC. I guess I would rather see the media knock the system not the teams. So bring on playoffs!!

And honestly, I can see issues with playoffs because someone is going to get left out. Say a 8 team playoff, for this year if they would have taken the top 8 in the BCS, teams like WVU would have been left out and teams like OU would be in there and we all know the outcome of that game.

I guess all in all there is going to be controversy in college football no matter what system is in place, but it always seem more prevelant when our LSU Tigers are on top.

Oh yeah, I feel we dominated the game in every aspect. Except for Wells' 65 yd TD run, we held him and his Buckeyes in check.

Well if you remember when USC bombed OU and Auburn finished its season at a perfect 13-0, the big question was whether Auburn should have played USC for the championship and whether or not we really crowned the real champion.

So it's just a BCS thing. Nothing against LSU.

Its like my man James Carville said, they should've beat Stanford at home and they would've played for a national title.
They couldn't have lost to a worse team in the Pac 10.

We are outright champions, USC is THIRD behind Georgia so if there is any question it would be Georgia vs us.
No doubt we would win, we won the SEC west and the SECCG, enough said!

Remember the pac 10 and big ten are against a playoff system because they can ride their gravy trains to the NCG almost every year.
They don't have to play a brutal SEC schedule to get there!

HaHa, I'm so one tracked I forgot about that one. But, no one said USC wasn't deserving of that win. Most of that conversation was should have Auburn played USC instead of OU, and why not a split NC then? This year folks are saying LSU is not the best in college football and at a neutral site USC would win. On and on and on. I guess it all just pisses me off a little, I turned on the TV this morning to see good things said about our LSU Tigers and all I hear is the national media saying yeah LSU is the NC but ....

    It just gets old!

Hell, I think we would have a tough time beating USC on a neutral field. I regard USC as the only team to have the talent that LSU has.

I think we beat Georgia, however, on a neutral field. Again, Georgia's offense would not scare me enough, just like OSU's didn't. And you saw what happened after the 10-0 lead.

We just remember the years when it involves LSU. Other BCS controversies:

2000 ... FSU picked over Miami and Oregon. All 3 had one loss and Miami beat FSU.

2001 ... Nebraska didn't win their conference but picked over Oregon.

    2004 ... Auburn undefeated.

Nonsense! We won the BCS crystal football in 2003 and USC did not. We won the MacArthur Trophy in 2003, not USC. You can't be a national champion if you weren't in the national championship game! The AP poll has been meaningless since the advent of the BCS. USC was #1 in two rankings in 2003, LSU was #1 in nine.

We didn't spiit our 2003 championship with USC, they claimed half of it. We claim all of it and we have the hardware to back it up.

I think USC would be a tough game, I will definately agree with that. Hell, I got nervous no matter who we play, even the LA Techs of the world, but that is besides the point to me. I don't think this is the time to talk about shoulda, coulda, woulda.

I will ask you this, if USC is so good, why weren't they playing in New Orleans last night instead of LSU or OSU? Thats right, people at the time didn't think they deserved to be there, so why bring it up now that they should have? They had their shot but lost it when they lost at home to a 40 pt underdog with a back up QB.

The talking heads can say whatever they want. The final top 10 says it all...

It does not matter. The BCS polls are what we have and that is the only NC that counts. If you have the crystal you are the champ period. It doesn't matter what you like or don't like. No one complains during the year or in the preseason when they are ranked high, so don't complain at the end. As long as the system is in place then it is what we have. How about if we say the superbowl trophy doesn't really count because the best team did not really win it, they just had a bad game at the wrong time. No, that does not happen, we use the system we have and whoever ends up with the trophy is the Big Dog for that season.
