Didn't Rattay explode after Crowton left?

    "Louisiana Tech
Tim Rattay played college football at Louisana Tech, in Ruston. He holds several NCAA records, including the NCAA Division I-A record for average passing yards per game with 386.2, and is in second place in NCAA history with 12,643 yards of total offense. (now surpassed by Colt Brennan of Hawaii) [2] He is also in the top 5 of every offensive category.[3] He was in the top 10 voting for the Heisman in 1998, which is awarded to the best college football player. In 1998, he broke school records as a senior with 4,943 yards and 46 touchdowns to finish second in NCAA history in yardage."

Crowton's last year at LT was 1998, so that means Crowton was there for 3 years, and Timmy improved while Crowton was there. Also, since 1998 was Tim's best season, and Crowton's last, I'd be pretty certain he didn't "blow up" after Crowton left. Interesting they don't mention 1999, which was the first year after Crowton left. Rattay was drafted in 2000.

I personally do not blame crowton for our offensive struggles. It seems to me that miles brought crowton in to run an offense that is far from anything that crowton ran in the past. LSU's offense has absolutely no identity. i have no idea what were doing and it seems like the players don't either. we have this shotgun, spread option, pistol, pro style offense going and its an absolute circus... ( AND WE WONDER WHY WE CANT DEVELOP TALENT AT QB)

Maybe we should fire Miles and promote Crowton to head coach then. :hihi:

So your contention is that Miles is interjecting the wr screens on 4th down, and the 5 wr set on 3rd? Miles is doing that? :insane:

Fact remains that Crowton's biggest success here was with a 5th yr senior and the previous OC's offense. Crowton publicly admitted he changed very little in '07. This will be JJ's 3rd yr, and Lee's 4th. If neither one can get their head on straight, who is responsible for that?

I am so sorry i forgot i was on tigerforums and not vlesports.com..(you have to explain yourself more here)...

The point i am trying to make here, is that in my opinion crowton has been forced to change his offense when he took this job. Crowton was one of the first guys to run the spread offense. I have watched his teams play whether at tech or oregon and what we are running is nowhere close. So what i am trying to say is this is not the offense that led the nation in total offense more than once...

    :insane:
