I understand its a lose-lose, however I do not see any black leaders accepting responsibility for their "own" actions as a community.

In today's world, I can argue they have "more" of a chance (with regards to policies) than any other race to make it in this country. I am sick and tired of hearing the word "race" when it comes to black issues.

    just my 2 cents.

your exactly right about many black leaders not accepting responsibility or, at the very least, condemning the actions of those who acted out. as a contrast i think the martin family, all things considered, have handled themselves fairly responsibly.

i also agree that the black community has a better shot in today's world than ever before and with every day that passes I think that racism inherently grows weaker with each passing generation. I know my parents are less racial than my grandparents and I am far less racial than my parents and I pray my children will live in a world where the word racism is referred to only in it's historical context.

I honestly marvel at how much attention this entire case has received and I'll be damned if it doesn't feel like it has gone on longer than OJ's trial. Hell, it's gone on so long I've had time to switch sides a time or two before realizing that this is a long succession of very unfortunate events, poor decision making, assumptions, fears and, finally, fight or flight that got us to where we are now. We can twist and turn it politically until it makes us all blue in the face but the fact is that it is a tragedy and we all, white or black, should treat it that way.
