He first politicized it when he said if he had a son he would look like Trayvon.

Secondly, it's a damn shame he has nothing better to spend his time on.

I thought his comments stunk, If you can't figure out why doors lock and people clutch their bags, just watch a week of nightly news. I hate it is this way, but it is.

I also about choked on this: Mr. Obama said Americans needed to give African-American boys “the sense that their country cares about them and values them and is willing to invest in them.”

Why do we have to "give" this to them?

Why can't the earn our respect, and trust, and love and all that?

Would not be all that hard, we are pretty forgiving. They don't even have to be great, just not bad, and they would be 9/10s there. Easy.

My take is that the ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY never stops. Its a shame

Of course there is a reason, he'd like to reverse slavery......nothing new here folks, he can't help but polarize this issue, it's eating him alive to try and not make it a bigger issue than he already has, no coincidence the DOJ investigates. Obama 101, part of his master plan.......he can't be objective like Charles Barkley because he's got his black blinders on.

As I said before, only thing that happened that night was two assholes got into a fight and one is dead, nothing more, nothing less. Get over the race element. If this was an asian, white, hispanic, russian or eskimo that got killed by a black guy it would make the second page of the florida paper....end of story.

Maybe he wants to keep it in the lime light rather than IRS and Benghazi and Snowden etc etc...
His resume shows he's more qualified to stir up shit than run a country. Unless running the country means into the ground. That he's more than qualified for.

Yep. And he said that trayvon could've been him 35 years ago. Apparently they had a lot in common. Drugs, thugs and up to no good.

That cock sucker would like for you to think that. Truth is, Tway Tway's never eaten kalua pigs at a Luau on Kauai Island. When Tway Tway flies it's not on Air Force One and he doesn't leave his bedroom; the only train Tway Tway's been around was with 3 other dope smokers and a white girl.

Pride, part of the job of the presidency is being able to handle all of these situations as they arise. From a political perspective the President has been getting a ton of shit from his own side about NOT commenting until now. All politics aside, I agree with Mobius that I thought his comments were well placed, didn't seek to undermine the legal process and urged lawmakers to revisit SYG laws. This entire ordeal has gotten completely out of hand. Since the very beginning it has been politicized on both sides with liberals trying to make it racial in nature and conservatives trying to prop it up as a poster child for SYG laws. The fact is that neither perspective is truthful.

I have bi-racial children so I am pretty sensitive about racism. I don't want to think they will grow up in a world where people will hate them because of the color of their skin. That said, minorities have taken this one too far. And I will even go further to say that it is important to call out the misuse of the word racism when necessary. To call every little thing racial is to water down the rhetoric when racism truly does happen.
On the flip side, as I stated before, the right has used this to justify SYG laws and, unfortunately, this has all been driven and funded by the NRA because they are scared shitless that we might do something.....anything sensible......as it relates to guns.

This is a lose-lose guys. A kid lost his life and regardless of his skin color or past mistakes (we all made them as teens) he didn't deserve to die. Zimmerman, like him or not, acted out of fear for his own family and in spite of some obviously poor decisions he is not a racist or guilty of a crime according to the law in Florida. It's a damn shame that this has risen to the level that it has.
