The SEC Championship is really a major accomplishment. I will be honest and say for a short time yesterday I didn't care if our football team won another game and I was considering not watching any more of our games not because of wins and losses but because I've had too much drama this year in life and football. I am a Tigerfan before a college football fan therefore I don't enjoy the thrillers as much as an LSU fan than I do as a college football fan. I use to have to dye my hair after the LSU losses but this season I've had to dye my hair after the wins as well. I said before that I think these games have been easier on the players than the fans. Then I woke up this morning and it was a new day, the sun was shinning and I realized yesterday was the toughest loss anyone could ever have. We were in the top 2 in the nation all football season until we lost it on the last regular season game, that is tough, I would argue tougher than losing in the SEC CG? But the lid blew off the pressure cooker yesterday, win or lose the rest of the season, neither will affect me the same way as it has all season. Thoughts?
We really did not seem to improve. If not because of injuries then has to be coaching. Unless the players just did not "get it", although that would lead back to coaching as well.
Georgia is in the exact same boat we were in last year. If they win their bowl game, they may end up number 3.
The SEC championship is won. The MNC is "bestowed". That's why I think it means more. Not more prestigious, maybe, but more meaningful. ldskule:
Why even play the game then? What was the story prior to the BCS? It's all about money. Just ask Forbes.
WOW, if anyone thinks an SEC Championship is a bigger accomplishment than a National Title, we've really.... I'll take the same argument in the initial post and say if it's such a big prize, why isn't a team in our conference ranked ahead of the two teams playing in it. If any person said that winning any other conference was even close to winning a National Title we'd LOAO at them and before you play the, "Yeah but this is the SEC" card, we may be stronger but not enough to say an SEC Championship is bigger than a National Title and if we'd have won it this year and someone said it wasn't won, rather, "Bestowed"- LAWD, we'd have a fit.
I think we should start claiming that the winner of the SEC championship is the national champions. I bet we could get CBS on board with this since it would be good for them and a major network would lend some credibility to the claim. If anyone says that it is unfair then we will just say that they have an unhealthy obsession with the SEC and they should just accept it.
It's still a pretty big accomplishment to win the SEC...Not as important as winning the NC, but still important.
