or is it half full? you know it kinda upsets me a little bit after seeing the team i saw play GA Tech, makes me wonder what could have been. but on the other hand, it was such a relief seeing the team perform the way they did, im gonna have to go with half full because the future is really bright!! We are gonna be right there again in the next few years guys and gals!!! :geauxtige:geauxtige the talent is there, will the expectations be astronomical next season?
They probably wouldn't have played that intensely vs GT had they not had such a miserable regular season to atone for.
half full. LSU has a lot of things coming back. Not many teams return their QB, all their feature backs, all their WRs but one, their TE and more than half their linemen on offense. And then have a stockpile of talent on the D-Line, return 2 of 3 linebackers and the whole secondary, because I don't consider C-Taylor a starter, because he didn't start the end of the season.
see i would have thought just the opposite. i knew we could definitely run GA Tech off the field, but the question was would they. I thought that being that most on the team had a ring from last season that the chicken sandwich bowl just wouldnt mean that much to them.
:geaux: I'm on the glass half full side. This was a big win for the program since it ends the season on a positive note, something to build on, etc. Get's some of the bad taste out of their mouths. Losing could have been a disaster, IMO. 8 - 5 is much better to take than 7 - 6 would have been, and on a three game losing streak to go along with it. This win was critical and will make a huge difference going in to next year. I also think a loss would have hurt in recruiting this year and possibly next. The last impression the team made with recruits, a 38 - 3 shellacking of the #14 team in the nation, was lasting and just what the team and program needed. :LSU231:
Nah. That was the same thing that scrappy was saying on his show the day before the game, and I thought it was a very faulty perspective. I can tell you, after all of those miserable losses this year, all those guys who played in the BCSNCG had long since forgotten about that game. If we had gotten snubbed for the NCG this year, then that line of reasoning might have been valid. But I think that the team felt like they had a lot of face to save given the abysmal regular season. People tend to remember the last thing you did. So my feeling was that the Tigers would use that to their advantage, and go out with a bang. They had something to prove not only to the country, but to themselves, as well.
Considering our recruiting class & how I expect our coaching hires to go, you have to say at least half full.
Amen to that. Considering what we have coming back, what other teams are losing, and the recruiting class we have coming in, I think the glass is already overflowing.
