Is the "even" numbered year now our championship push?

    sorry, but when you get florida and auburn at home, its a big boost...
    2001 SEC champs
    2003 National Champs
    2005 I think LSU would have been in the big game had it not been for katrina
    2007 Champs
    2009? Defense will have matured, QB will emerge, Scott will continue to pound... I'm calling at LEAST seccg appearance...

    Auburn had been our primary rival in the West, and whether that game was on the road or at home made a big difference to our season.

    Now that Auburn will not be as big of a factor, our primary competition for the West will be Bama (and Ole Miss secondly), which we play at home in even years.

    However, with Arkansas & Florida being away in even years that makes our even/odd year schedule less important than in year's past as every year has tough away games.

    Basically, what istslstls said.

    at the time, even if we beat Tenn and UGA in the SECCG, I don't think we jump preseason #1 USC and #2 Texas who were both undefeated as well. I think we would have been left out in the cold in 05 just like Auburn in 04 had your assumption that we would have been undefeated without katrina hitting been true.
