No kidding. The guy tried to sneak onto the boat and got into a shoving match with some over zealous bouncers.

Call me when you have something news worthy.:dis:

Maybe RP would have been better off if our "mamby pamby judgmental hypocritical panty waists" coach left and we hired someone who won't suspend him for trivial stuff. Afterall, winning is the only thing.

There is no denying his talent, and he showed flashes of it last night. That frozen rope to Byrd for a TD was just amazing. The only thing that can stop RP is RP. The sky is the limit for this kid.

It was a one game suspension which seems about right for his part of what he was involved in. But I remember fans on this forum calling for him to be kicked off the team over it. That's over the top.

The MPJHPW reference was aimed at most of the posters here and the lynch mobs roaming around Baton Rouge, not the coaching staff. I think they've handled RP well, other than refusing to play him when Flynn was highly ineffective.

Hey, RP played pretty well for only his second start ever at this level. Lets also throw in it was against a good Tennesee team in the SECCG and Id say he is our QB of the future, as long as he can stay out of trouble.

That's what I was thinking. He may not be as strong as Tebow (really, who is?), but he is a lot faster. Although, I did see him drag a horde of defenders a few yards a couple times, a la Timmy. He definitely has a better arm and throwing motion than TT.

Yes, RP is the future the next two years! And a bright future it appears to be, IMO. I was very impressed with his arm and his accuracy. With reps and experience he will only get better. Tebow would make a better fullback than RP, but RP would make a better wide out than Tebow. The Fla. LSU game next year should be a doozie! Two of the best young QB's in the country. I'm projecting RP, he has not earned that praise as Tebow has, but it will be a great game.

I hope this game made him "grow up" a bit.

i know we'll likely have to go over this most every week from now until next season but here's the deal.

ryan's off the field issues where he was clearly in the wrong go as follows:

    • unpaid parking tickets
    • using a fake id
ryan's "skirmishes" where other people were at fault yet "lsu fans" wanted to throw his name in go as follows:

    • he was interviewed about his connection with people in laplace who were counterfeiting money. (laplace is a small town, of course he had connections to them)
    • he was involved in a skirmish at the varsity in which his lawyer was actually pursuing pressing charges against the varsity.
so really, what he's done is something all of us have done at some point and probably other people on the team have done this stuff as well. rp actually went to the casino with matt flynn so is matt flynn a terrible leader for bringing him there?

the only thing i'm concerned with about rp is who he knows in laplace and what influence they have over him. but he looked mature in the seccg and more mature in the post game presser. we will be fine with him at qb so long as lsu fans don't act like lsu fans and destroy things and people before it's right to do so.
