With all his off field antics I worry about this one. I think he has the talent but can he really carry this team when they need him most, or do we have to look down the depth chart? :tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye:
If he has all of his off the field troubles behind them, and that may be a big IF, then I have no doubt in my mind this will be the next great QB at LSU. He has 2 years to show his wares to the NFL. He is a projected first rounder is he can flourish. If Crowton is still around (God I hope so), then he will put RP in a position to be very successful. I also think next year might be LSU's best O-line in its history with 4 returning starters (and Will Arnold back as well we hope). I say he shines brightly these next 2 years.
Hopefully him being kept out of the few games this year has opened his eyes. If not, you have to admit, we don't have anyone ready to take over.
I have to say that whole situation concerns me. He,s got the tools...if he just gets his head together. This weekend may be a coming out party for RP...then again it may be a bust. With (possibly) a new coaching staff next year etc, I think his future at LSU may well ride on this game.
This is absolutely and totally up to him. If he could just shut out all the crap and grow up and concentrate on football he could write his own ticket. He really does have the potential to be one of the best players to come along in quite a while. He also has the potential to allow the jerks he's hanging with to ruin that potential. Someone needs to give him a biography of Cecil Collins and let him read it. Talk about screwing your life up.
Next year's offense will be scary good if RP can keep his mind on football. I'm hopeful but wary. If not, could be an interesting debut for Jaret Lee - when is the last time LSU had a 4-year starter at QB?
I'd really be shocked if he is on this team by next season. The kid has shown no maturity at all off the field. He really needs someone like a JaMarcus Russell around to show him how to conduct himself.
I think he will be a great QB for LSU. Looking forward to seeing him play tommorrow if Flynn can't make a go of it. Next season the offense should be even more explosive than this season with Perriloux at QB, a more experienced and better O_Line, Charles Scott and Keiland getting the bulk of the carries, and plenty of good recievers to throw the ball to. Really way to much has been made of his off the field problems that really add up to nothing. I hear he is really a good kid and look forward to him leading this team for the next couple of years.
