Oh...and I was getting excited about a liberal democratic president issuing a mandate requiring people to have jobs. Sarcasm gets me everytime.

I hope Perry is all done in. Remember always he said that SS is a scam, so if he has his way, i want all my SSI taxes refunded with interest.

He said it was a ponzi scheme and it is. Do a little reading up on it. By the way if you know anything about Social Security you should know that you will probably never see your money again unless it is changed drastically. Anyone under 40 would be an absolute fool to want SS to continue on the path its on. Anyone over 40 should know by now that ponzi scheme describes it perfectly.

It’s impossible to see how Social Security meets the definition of a Ponzi Scheme. It is not a fraud. It’s workings are entirely transparent. And the risks are clearly known.

This chart says: Starting in 2035, there will not be enough money in the current Social Security system to pay benefits as promised. But that doesn’t mean the program will collapse. If Congress does absolutely nothing, beneficiaries will continue to get 74% of their benefits through 2085, which is just about as far into the future as anyone can pretend to see.

Rick Perry’s use of the term “Ponzi Scheme” must be read as political rhetoric, pure and simple. But there are many voters as dumb as he is.

It is not a ponzi scheme. Call it bad policy, call it going broke, call it idiotic. That's fine and can be debated but it is not a ponzi scheme.

You're using money coming in from new members to pay old members. Call it a ponzi scheme or a pyramid scheme, its all about the same. It's garbage and it's heading towards failure. Those that actually pay in get back less than they pay in, its garbage.
