I hope not. But I don't trust alleva. Now malzahn as oc, yeah, bring him on. But that would be a lateral move which makes no sense unless he smells trouble at au.
If Malzahn comes to LSU it's on a very temporary basis. We can outbid Auburn (above table), but he is going to get offered a good HC job within a few years. If he takes over as OC it's just long enough to haul the offense out of the ditch, to use Obama's metaphor. Ideally we're looking for a proven OC/QB coach with SEC experience, and Malzahn fits that bill very nicely.
HC it is already done. This will be CLM's last game as a Tiger. Take it fwiw. Harbaugh back at Stanford, who else are they going to get? Its Miles or nothing and they have probably already applied the full court press. No way he passes on his 2nd and most probably LAST chance to coach his dream job. The cat is gone peeps. Malzahn will be the HC at LSU come Monday morning. Any takers?
Well, Harbaugh is going to San Fran...but that really doesn't matter. I hope Malzahn isn't coming here.
He is coming in, and it will be as OC. The rub is he will be the visting OC as he will still hold that position at Auburn.
I'll take that one! Miles may leave (but I doubt it), but there is NO WAY that Malzahn will be the HC at LSU next year. He does not have enough of a resume to land the HC job at LSU. It takes a LOT more than coordinator skills to be a HC. He needs to prove himself as a HC at a smaller school before he steps into a place like LSU. Let him go to Ole Miss or Kentucky or something.
