Before you ask me where you can get some of what you think I have been smoking let me explain. First of all in the games I have watched so far this season NOBODY has impressed me as being great. I was prepared to be impressed by Florida today and granted the score could have been 40-13 instead of 26-13 but for a couple of Tim "the greatest human being ever to play college football and the 3rd coming of Jesus Christ" Tebow mistakes. (Do Gods fumble or throw interceptions in the red zone?) Texas struggled early against Texas Tech The only team ranked ahead of LSU with what anybody might call a "signature win" over a ranked opponent is Alabama's win over Virginia Tech. Now, looking back to LSU's seemingly lackluster win over UW, could that actually be considered a more impressive signature win than the Tide's victory over V Tech in light of the fact that U Dub beat the mighty USC Trojans? Despite their winless 2008 season, the Huskies under new coach Steve Sarkisian just might be the team to beat for the PAC 10 title. If UW had entered the game against LSU ranked as highly as they now appear to be the LSU 31-23 victory that could have been 31-16 but for a meaningless last minute TD might be considered by pollsters and yes, even LSU fans as this young season's most impressive win.
Sorry, but no way I could agree with LSU being the real #1. Sadly I think we're far from it at this point, regardless of how other teams are playing.
My only goal for this team is to fight hard every game. I i believe they are doing that. In every game so far, we have had a few opportunities to run all over things, but we missed some and made some. TO be expected I guess. However, looking at the other Teams, LSU is doing ok. Keep working hard and eventually we will click. It's not like LSU goes out there saying " ehy lets go suck it up"
Ohio State won a national championship looking worse than LSU has looked so far. To this point, none of the teams have blown me away, and LSU hasn't, either. Sort of like in '07: we're continually referred to as the "only two-loss BCSNC." Well, somebody had to be the champ that year--might as well have been us. Who knows what '09 will bring? Although, I think we're a year or two away. Still, how great is it to be able to say "a year or two away," not from an SEC West title or SEC title, but from the national title. Back in the '90's, that seemed like a pipe dream, as the '58 championship was farther and farther in the past, sort of like that '38 NC that the Aggies cling to.
