Going undefeated is almost impossible these days especially if you have a schedule like we have which I think is the toughest in the country. My dream scenario is we play UF without Tebow(I REALLY don't think he should play) and we beat them. This puts us in great position to go against the rest of the SEC West and win it and it would be a lot of fun reading all of the UF fan rants that we beat them without him. Then we meet in Atlanta WITH him and we let the cards fall where they may. The winner of that one SHOULD be in the BCSNC!
It's the biggest game on the schedule because it's "The Next one". I know it's cliche' but in this case, it IS the biggest. Auburn looks real. 'Bama, along with Florida and Texas are pretty much the only teams in the country that have played to their rankings in every game thus far. We have an opportunity to knock off a #1 ranked Florida team in Death Valley...AGAIN.... while improving our own record to 6-0 and a possible top 2 ranking with a victory.
I like our chances against Florida. Night home game, where we haven't lost in the last 31 tries, against possibly a young QB that has never started, or maybe against a vulnerable Tebow. Stadium will be a rockin.
i'm so torn on this. i know that we are going to lose a game or two (hopefully that's all.) if one of these losses is to florida, it has no bearing on our SEC-W record. Bama, AU, OM, Ark all do. we need Bama to lose a game still. but whatever. i think LSU takes it to UF and punches them in the mouth. LSU baby!
You'd automatically say that the games against SEC West teams are probably more important because that has more of a direct influence of getting us to the SEC Championship game. And most people will probably agree whoever ends up winning the SEC will play in the NC. So yeah a loss to Florida probably isn't as bad as a loss to Alabama. But beating Florida would be a huge statement and would grab the attention of every voter in America for the rest of the year.
Whether you lose to an SEC East or SEC West, it still counts the same towars the conference record. I think this is a big game because we are playing the No. 1 team in the nation, the defending champ in primetime. This is no doubt the game of the year for LSU. We need this game more than Florida does because our road to the SECCG will be tougher than Florida's.
agree with both points. but we'll take it one week at a time. florida is this week and i think we give them alllll they want.
not a bad theory BUT one thing about it is flawed. We still have to play Bama @ tusca loooser. and the gumps are playing better than anyone right now including U of F. We need to go into tuscer Looser undefeated if at all possible. I know its a long shot but, that is why we play each and every game because anything can happen. I will say it again and it is OBVIOUS I know but: if we beat the gators even if by some mircale last second one point.... that is one less game that we could LOSe and we need every win because of what has already been stated, its tough to go undefeated. remember when we won the NC, lost to UK and ARK.... who would have guessed we'd lose to those two teams b4 the season? L's come from strange places.... We need to beat florida the polls will take care of themselves, they dont matter like LES keeps preaching. 6-0 and we're half way there...... Id rather be 6-0 than 5-1 regardless of WHO we play.
