I know it is, but we can lose next week, & still win the west if we win the rest of the games. The odds of us going undefeated or slim. If I had to pick one to lose it would be Florida in tiger stadium. Beat bama, Ole miss Ark, & Auburn we win the west & have another shot at Florida, then who knows. Go Tigers!
In the grand scheme, no, althought a big loss as opposed to a close loss could mean a crippling drop in our poll spots (too may pundits still think we have played nobody). But the odds of going undefeated are always slim. And besides, who doesnt want to see this again?
I think we can lose this game and still win out and win the west. Then meet UF in the SECC and beat them and play for a National Championship with 1 lose! AND your right going undefeated is a miracle in itself so if there was ever a time that one needed to be dropped to make things right in the universe it would be now for us. I think this game is important either way win or lose. Win we are in the drivers seat. Lose and we are remotivated to make a championship push!
and a loss (if its not a spanking) to #1 florida as opposed to a lower ranked (or non-ranked) other team is gonna be less of a drop in the polls. and i dont see undefeated. not in the sec.
Any conference game is obviously huge. Its big because LSU can really prove themselves in this game with how they play. Bama, Ole Miss, and Auburn are bigger because of them being in the SEC W.
This game may or may not be important in the NC picture. Let's look at some scenarios: 1. After the game, both teams win the rest of their games. Then the teams would rematch in the SECCG, and the winner would go to the NCG. 2. After the game, either team wins the rest of their games. They would likely be in the NCG with or without one loss. 3. The loser of the game, loses another game down the road. If that would be LSU, they would probably not make it to the SECCG. If that would be FL, they could still quite likely make it to the SECCG, and with 2 losses by every other NCG contender, they would probably get in the NCG with a big SECCG win. Everything would really have to fall into place for this to happen, but it could happen as we saw in 07. So, while we are not sure now, it is probably early enough in the season that just this loss to either team would not keep them out of the NCG. Since both programs are seen as top ten national powerhouses, a close game loss would likely not hurt the loser if they were able to take care of business after the fact.
