Don't forget undefeated in OOC play. Is he a good coach? Hell yes. Do people have trouble figuring out just what the hell he's thinking? Yes. He's done a wonderful job here and I hope we have him for at least another 5 years.

since they began playing football the gumps have won 70% of their games.....LSU 64%

the gumps have been great and a historic program

    4 mnc's before 1935
    3 more in the 60's
    3 more in the 70's
their last one in 1992......17 years ago

the last SEC championship? 1999....the gumps haven't won the sec this decade

Actually its 70.9% - Ranks first in the SEC.

64% - Puts you in 4th place in same SEC.

The definition of History is a study of the past.

Your reasoning powers seem to indicate you grew up watching MTV.

    1992.1999, ancient history, Really?

It is to a college student today. Today's 19-year-old student was 10 when the decade began and 20th century records are definitely ancient history to them. Bama had a hell of a 20th century record. Yale had a hell of a 19th century record.

But we do understand why Bamafans don't like to discuss the 21st century. Things have changed, eh?

sigh......once again i'll say it slower so you can understand.

this is a prime example of a backhanded gump compliment. you indicated that our success was "recent". i proved it wasn't.

once again.....why is 15 yrs recent when it applies to LSU and the dubose, fran, and shula eras at gump u ancient history?

    indeed.

i'm probably older than you but evidently much less myopic

time to put away the boy george albums gump....it's 2009

cheer up. its okay to fast forward to this decade. the future is bright...after all, your coach won one of these :crystal:......at  .

LOL, I'm assuming we don't have a whole lot of film on the yale group, but that is history.

Hard to love football teams in bits and slices.

That's like telling your wife of many years, you know, the last few months , wasn't all that bad.

At that point, I hope you enjoy fast food.

KCAL, My discussion of the word "recent" in the context of my original post, quoted above, didn't have anything to do with wins and defeats or long term history.

"recent"dealt with the LSU group who has tasted success these past few years, they know what works.

If the fan base stays happy with CLM, he's going to have to continue that recent success. Otherwise if he loses to Bama, Florida, etc. beyond these past two years, your fan base will not except that, regardless of his record.

Those are ultimately the same standards most of the upper tier of SEC teams expect. (georgia maybe the exception there, lost way too many already to florida).

How about like finding out that your "superstar" wife of many years had been CHEATING, then got busted and put on probation for it?

...or last century's pizza; I love these analogies!:hihi:

That's a good post, and what you say is true, except that we won't "accept" being second place.:hihi:

Read it again. My one and only point, in that whole piece was that you, the LSU fan base, will not Accept second place. No matter how shiny the record.

    That is all.
