Some of us aren't happy with losing 8 more regular season SEC games than Alabama over the last 2 years. Some of us are in denial.
Although most live in a what have you done for me lately world, some of us tend to look at things in broader terms.
Nothing would make me happier than to be wrong about Les Miles. This doesn't change the fact that the last 2 years were mediocre. Whether or not they prove to be a small setback or a downward trend has yet to be seen.
i edited the above for the more likely scenario. okie and others want to believe crowton or someone else controls miles fate and not miles himself. we have huge extremes represented here and love/hate is often blind. miles is responsible for the product on the field. period. no excuses. we have regressed the last two seasons in the coaching and developmental departments almost across the board. this needs to be recognized in order to be corrected. simply replacing coaches is not the answer. miles need to be proactive in this himself and take the reigns. lets get that corrected and get back to the bust other teams in the mouth philosophy. i prefer knowing we can control a team at the LOS and let the chips fall where they may. the wins will then follow and you wont be as dependent on qb play. i guess our fate lies, as usual, in the production up front. certainly cant be worse than last year on either side of the ball. but how do we compare against the elite. guess we will see soon enough.
see i don't think last year was mediocre. Maybe mediocre compared to 03, and 07. I thought the defense drastically improved, i also believe LSU could have won every game they played in last year. I also believe that if we pull it out vs. Alabama, the Ole Miss debacle doesn't happen. I think last year was an above average year.
Exactly, it's tough enough having to follow the man. (Zook at Fla. Perkins at Bama) How about following the man and having to play him every year?
I think this falls into the trap of unfair criticism that Miles gets. If LSU wins, it's because Miles let his assistants coach, when LSU loses, it's because he's interfering. All head coaches are hands off to a point. Even the great one ("I'll always be a Tiger") Saban.
Those games were alot closer on the scoreboard than on the field. Things will not go your way when you get outgained like we did. We were outgained in 8 out of 13 games. Total Yards LSU 3959 Opp 4259
you are right, offensively we had a extreme sub par year. but that is what a defense is for right, to bail your offense out. It really doesn't matter how you win as long as you do win. We could have beaten UF, we should have beaten Bama, we beat Bama i don't think the Ole Miss thing happens. The PSU game was crap, you take an already bad offense and put them on a wet carpet? I agree with you, the offense sucked balls last year. I still think the team did well as a whole, and improved from 08.
