i would say yes he is. Also the thought of Joe Alleva hiring a new coach really scares the **** out of me.

That is a pretty good article, it puts things into perspective. Im a Miles fan, I can say the only things I really didnt like were the R. Randle recruiting situation and the Ole Miss game.

I think he's definitely not getting "fair treatment" considering his win/loss record. Unfortunately, and I often ask myself how can I with what he's accomplished, I still find myself nervous with him on the sideline on game day. Something just won't let me get comfortable. Is that crazy, arguing with oneself? :hihi:

    Gotta love that!

I agree here and I liked the article. Every coach has their bone-head moments, but for some reason Miles' seem to be amplified in the media. Unfortunately, once our fickle fans get the notion stuck in their head that they don't like someone, that's it. Miles could go undefeated for 10 years in a row and you'd still have people coming in here claiming he's a lucky idiot that needs to be fired.

not to mention its difficult to be the guy following "the guy".

a lot of fans will never accept him simply for that reason.

i don't like the article because it seems like it's written by an outsider. the mad hatter/riverboat gambler/ etc personified miles in 06-07 but he's been almost too conservative in 08-09.

miles is a poker player and knows that he had the cards in 06-07 and not the last two yrs. i'll always argue that the 5 4th down converts against UF in 07 wasn't all that crazy when you have a line that's hitting its blocks and a jacob hester in the backfield.

the flynn to d byrd AU play that same year wasn't his doing either. the play was changed on the field.

yet ole crazy les was at it again.

one thing i think i learned last year was too much credit is given to miles when bad things/good things happen. i honestly think he's a delegator of papa bowden proportions.

not that there's anything wrong with that, you just need top notch OC/DC's to make it work and make you look good.

while i didn't/don't like chavis' style, his defensive stats are imprssive. so its tougher to argue against him especially when he has to get a pass for how poorly the offense does at sustaining drives and staying on the field.

chavis' D should be built around ball control offenses b/c his d's stay on the field awhile as well. maybe less so when they actually get more than 4 downs of a break.

i've always backed les and was able to defend just about anything he did, but not firing crowton is (even if the move was not his to make = $) something i can't let go.

both men have the chance to prove me wrong but honestly i don't think 2010 ends with a shot at any kind of championship.

lastly, lost in all this is the regression of play at the LOS. in 1995 (when i was a soph) i remember watching nebraska and thinking "not until LSU gets superior lineman will they be ay good".

dinardo started in that direction and saban flourished in it. success followed.

now more scary than crowton, miles game management/player development, QB depth chart, etc for me is dominance on the OL/DL.

can the D line make some noise with more depth this year?

can the O line block at all? put what you want on JJ, but the running game has been inefficient in recent years and down and distance used to favor us, now it doesn't and that's not a good thing no matter who's under center.

    2010 peeps.

will we see changes? will les prove the doubters wrong? will gary return to wizard status? will this team be relevant in late november?

if not, 11 other SEC schools will break out the popcorn and relish the sh**storm that ensues.

    so you know.......no pressure guys.

Question: Is Les Miles being treated unfairly?
Answer: Yes (IMO), but it comes with the job.

    Anything else?

This is true. I don't feel sorry for him. He is, after all, making substantial money for his headaches.

If he brings us back to the SECCG (and hopefully wins it), the hot seat will cool off.
