Or .. Right now, National stories are being written about the "Crazy, Mad Hatter" coach & his "Grass Eating" & his team just happens to be 8-1, sitting just outside the BCS goalline - at the moment. My guess: LSU wins out - BCS CG Why? "Les Miles is Crazy, you never know what he's gonna do!" Also, LSU is a much better ratings draw for TV than the tiny teams..
I always wonder... do recruits look at him and say, "Thats one crazy S.O.B.! I want to play for him! It looks fun!"... Or, do they say, "That is one dumb S.O.B.! I really can't see myself playing for him!"
Well all one has to do is look at the talent he continually pulls in and it's very clear which response they give...not to mention MANY players have stated it was fun playing for him and also because he believed in them, trusted them to execute "illogical" plays called, etc.
I agree.. his recruiting classes are great... but are the few "misses" because the players don't jive with his style?
Player/coach relationship is in the top two biggest reasons kids commit but what coach lands them all? It's not always HIM recruiting each kid either. With you knowledge of the game I've read you post, I'm sure you know the staff takes regions. You may have even played CFB, I used to love to read your posts now pretty much all you do is hack on Miles, which is neither here nor there to me, jus sayin. :thumb:
and when recruits, like those at the fla game, see players not only giving him the game ball, but standing up for him in front of and to the press, you'd think they will take notice the relationship he has with his players. plus the obvious mutual respect. that kind of thing has got to tell them how he treats the players not just as players, but as human beings.
That's hack of a powerful confidence builder for any player! A friend of mine was wondering if Les is like the detective Columbo, seemingly out on the left field but knows exactly what he is doing............
