This is not any criticism towards JJ, but I'm just wondering if there is a benchmark on when a QB is considered "seasoned." JJ has now started 8 games including 5 road games which includes the bowl game. He also came in the Ole Miss game for JL. I'm stillreading and hearing how he is so "green." Does he have to play a full season to be considered experienced? It's just a thought. Please discuss. :geauxtige:crystal:
The problem is they treat him like he is green. You see what he can do when they open it up. (Georgia Tech, end of UGA game, etc.)
Id been defending JJ but after last night Im starting to wonder. He just lacks the confidence out there to pull the trigger. He is too scared to try to fit the ball in there. He is even too scared to run or throw it away. He is thinking way too much out there. When JJ does play with that Zen like no mindedness he does well. The only good throw he has was the perfect example. He dropped back and knew where he was going and didnt hesitate the least. He hit LaFell perfectly down the field. Other than that every throw was off. He rarely hits the receivers in stride, they alwasy have to sit and wait. Id like to see Lee and Shepard get some time. Im not saying start but just to see how they do in game time situations. I fear the same thing happening this year as last. Sticking with a QB for too long and them losing total confidence. Then regressing more each week but not making any changes.
Marcus Randall was at LSU forever and never played like anything more than a HS QB. Time in grade does not necessarily equal success. Ever heard of the Peter Principle?
