He sure reminds me of ol' Jamie. A highly recruited QB with all the physical tools who one minute looks like an NFL first rounder and the next minute looks like he'd be lucky to start on a Pee-Wee team. And of course, there are the pick sixes that make the comparison even more vivid. Jarrett/Jamie had better step up his game next Saturday, folks. Or the defending champs are going to get embarrassed for the third time this year on the national stage. :tigerhead
and I don't recall either of them ever being confused with a 1st Round NFL QB. Confused, yes, NFL , not quite.
Jamie Howard was a pretty good quarterback playing for a very bad coach who had one bad game that shouldn't define him for the rest of his life.
He also stayed at LSU for spring practice his senior year, passing up a lucrative pay incentive to pitch for the Braves, opting to try and help the Tigers turn it around, which he and they did. Still loves the Tigers, too.
I guess this kind of coincides with the point I was making in the "Jefferson..." thread. Jamie Howard ended up being a decent QB at LSU. Yeah that Auburn game (like four or five picks in the fourth quarter) was dismal, but we did have a successful run with him. I don't think it's fair to Howard to compare Lee to him at this point.
My goodness I have thought the same thing. I hope not but either way we have Russell Sheppard coming here next year. He's better than anybody we have on the roster.
Dude, you are setting yourself up for a huge disappointment. If he plays as a freshman, he will make some dumb mistakes, possibly some that costs us games. We will be mediocre on offense, and be "rebuilding" yet again. That is what happens to the VAST majority of teams starting Freshmen QBs. Be prepared for it. If not, you'll be on here bitchin and cryin again next year and raving for some other freshman tha's coming in.
