Keep it in perspective. In this decade:

LSU has 2 National Championships and 3 SEC Championships
Florida has 2 National Championships and 2 SEC Championships
    Bama has . . . well . . . nothing yet.

I agree also, but with the offense sputtering like it I would be very happy and feel lucky if we have a 10-2 season.

I'd like to see posters like this go before Les Miles goes anywhere. Why would we upheave our entire program when it's in better shape than it's ever been before?

We're perennially ranked in the top 10. This magnifies our mistakes and gives people a wacked sense of reality, but in actuality, we're at or near the top of the CFB landscape. Complaining is pointless, unless you can't remember the bad times.

    1. I am very proud of our guys they put up a helluva fight. Not at all ashamed of our teams effort.
Not a bad loss, I thought we had some oppurtunities to win it, but it is what it is. We are still in the hunt. Probably won't win the SEC but I can still hope.
    2. Miles.... he is a very likable upstanding moral man and coach, but he needs to leave the big ten, micro manage crap at Meee chigan. His clock management skills are zero and they show up alot..............predictable offense lately. He suprises us all I think on occasion. Pulls some tricks out when you've given up on him as a coach. But he didnt do any of that in this game. I do like him, he is a hard guy NOT to like. the mad hatter.... You have to smile when he talks he is VERY likable, and when I watch his interviews he always wins me over. that being said, I'd like to see some new offense. More screens etc... I wont go into the nuts and bolts of it.

    3. Crowton is either SEVERELY hand cuffed or not as good as Jimbo. I dont see much of a spread offense, I see vanilla ball. predictable.

    4. We have equal talent with anyone. and all these folks saying we are going to be great NEXT year..... check it out... they said that LAST year. Folks this IS next year..... Excuses are just well...... excuses. see bottom of page rant.. :hihi:

    5. Our QB is young granted but capable. He takes sacks sure but very few INT's, these same coaches were calling the same stuff for JL and he was heaving it into space for the pick. lets just be honest here, our offensive scheme isnt fooling anyone one in the SEC, our talent is getting us the wins. SPEED at key postions can make up for a world of stuff. Meyer said this week in an interview....the most important key to winning is having talent. he is right. thats why we are 5-1. thank God Miles can recruit. but so could Orgeron.. thats scary.

    6. Our O line does NOT protect our young capable QB, I wonder if they are underperforming, under coached or just not as talented as our skill position players? I know we've lost some players here..... No idea but the results are obvious, WE DO NOT dominate the line of scrimmage and this is where it all begins. I submit that if we had the "best" O line Miles has seen since he has been coaching here, we'd be 6-0 and would have won every game 55- ( insert low number here). Even a young in-experienced QB can get REAL comfy behind a sweet O line. Hello lots of time and dominate running game, a QB's dream.

    7. I am not quite sure why our defense plays as well as it does. I KNOW they have the talent and potential to be as good as Florida or Bama, just not quite there yet. I don't know if the sucess we've had is because of Chavis or in spite of him. it could be more because of Jones and Peterson. I find myself wishing Bo Pelini was back though. I never was that impressed with the Vols defense in previous years. I could be wrong about him, time will certainly tell.

and this is off subject but...
Everyone that remembers the 90's and is happy with 8 wins a season forever, I suggest you tell your boss you are happy with less money because you made minimum wage in the 90's and see how that works for you. Never base your future goals on past failures... set goals one notch above what you've already achieved. If you dont make it, pick yourself up dust your self off and try again!

There is no shame in not getting there if you put forth your best effort. BUT how the hell can you put forth or expect the team to put forth its best effort if you are comfy with one notch above the worst of times?
No way would I hire someone with a " I am just happy we arent doing as bad as we once were" attitude. Well duh! no kidding everyone is glad we dont suck.... but personally, not sucking is defined as one step above OLE MISS.
SO if you are happy with mediocrity, what distinguishes LSU from the average NCAA school? it wouldnt be YOUR expectations now would it?

Be Proud of your team and the guys but dont let that develop a loser attitude.

Ok Im off my soap box now...

sorry if I mispelled 50 things tirk.... just live with it.

thanks and have a great day!

It's not out of the rhelm of possibility, ChOsnOne. Remember, had RP not been such a problem, we'd have a Sr. QB as our starter right now.

Instead, we had a RS-Fresh last season that they showed too much faith in and in the end, his inexperience led to his downfall.

This year, we were going with an equally inexperienced QB as last and it's not difficult to understand that JJ IS tentative BECAUSE of what happened to Lee. He's not allowing his ability throwing the ball to have a chance because he's just too scared to make a mistake. He holds the ball too long; wants to be a passer first, but he's got to know that our line this year isn't what it was last year and he's got to make things happen with his feet.

Its not time for a change but if this year goes down like last then Id say next year is it to change things around. This is unacceptable. We are underachieving and not coaching up the kids anymore. Ive said it before and Ill say it again. Miles lost a lot of fire. Also I think he wants to prove many of the media wrong. When LSU won the title they were saying how crazy he was, IE the Mad Hatter, the Hat, etc. He was very unconventional. Now Miles is hell bent on being more conventional it seems. He trying to be bland and coach more basically. Thats not Miles. Miles isnt the best Xs and Os guy. He is unconventional and the team feeds on that. He has that bravado, which is gone.

I have to agree with you! I think if we had another qb, we'd see a whole different offense. Or at least I'd like to think so. It's pretty obvious they don't have a comfort level with JJ at the helm.
