the longest any coach has gone at LSU is 5 years and this is Les 5th year so is it time for a change? With the ineffectiveness of the offense esp the QB position and the ineptness of the coaching staff to fix it, I think it is time for a change. Last night our defense played well enough to win, just our QB could not make enough correct decisions to get the offense moving in the right direction. :sob: I couldn't even win on my pools!
Yes, let's do that. We just lost 13-3 to the best team in the country. Yet this team played them better than anyone has in 2 yrs. I like our chances to win from here on out, and see them again in Atlanta.
Kids today just dont do their homework.....Charlie Mac was head coach for years......lot more than 5 at LSU through the 60's and 70's........
I understand. If your talking post Mac than you are right about the 5 years;however I feel you are wrong in that we need a coaching change at this time.....we need to fix the O and maybe make a QB change in order to compeat in the SEC. Our D is much improved over last year, just need a good leader at QB......
Changing coaches is not going to solve the problem. We have the right coaching staff here now. We have a young and developing team that still has not put it all together. It's a process, it doesn't happen overnight. We live, however, in an instant gratification, receive your rewards without paying your debts kind of world. Nothing is going to change this other than commitment, hard work and patience. It's not time to pull the plug. I don't understand some of the decisions that were made on the offensive side of the ball and I would like to have seen this staff pull out all the options and go for broke. Last night was once again a little conservative for my tastes. But think about it this way ... this team stands toe to toe with the number one team in the country, who is also statistically one of the best teams in the country and comes out with a 13 -3 loss. That is a victory and something that can be built upon in many ways. These are the fires that forge the steel ... I don't think one player can hang his head after that game and should be even more optimistic about what they can achieve. While I'd like to agree with some who think we can be in Atlanta in December, I'm more inclined to believe this team is going to be one hell of a force to be reckoned with next year. Our defense played incredibly last night. Once everything starts clicking at the same level with our offense we will be tough to beat. I say keep the coaches and continue to build this Championship Team. I would have loved different results but I'm good with where we are right now. :geaux:
Well written post:thumb: My only objection to what you say is that our offense does not seem to have an identity, and we seem to be getting further and further away from having an identity. We do not seem to be going in the right direction on offense, IMHO. I am not basing that on last night. Kudos to FLAs defense, they are the reason we did not get any closer on the scoreboard. However, when you look back at the last 18 games now, our offense has deteriorated with the exception that JJ is at least not throwing pick sixes. We are as vanilla as vanilla gets, and there does not seem to be a trough yet. I don't know if it is a conflict with CLM and CGC, but we seem to be reverting to an old school, Big Ten type team - minimal offense, with a stout defense. That will just not get it done in this era's SEC. I agree with you about being a year away, but we still have a chance THIS year, too. We lost to the #1 team in a close game, can certainly beat Bama, and get another shot at FLA. Of course, that is assuming we don't slip up in any other games:wink:
