recruiting class year? That is, if we sign most of the players we want?? We are #3 now, it seems we have room for at least 10 more to get around 25-28 signees...Lots of points to get..
We'd have to sign every top player left on our board to have a shot, even Saban's best classes didn't sign every top player left at this stage. USC has several silent 4/5* commits, and they'll sign a full class this year.
I don't worry about that too much. We need to sign good kid & great players that fit the positions we need & can qualify. Plenty of programs have great recruiting but don't get great players because they never qualify, get kicked off the team or are in positions that the team doesn't need. Let me save the suspense, we will not sign every top player we are after. It just doesn't happen. We should have a top 5 class. With this being Miles' first full recruiting class, I'd say that's pretty good & with more time to meet families of younger kids the future looks good.
If we land Holmes, Manley, K. Williams, and a few linemen i would call this class a success.. we will definatley have the best RB class..
I think we finish out nicely. We will get Keiland Williams (to like loco said, round out the best RB class in recent memory), and Manley is almost definetely coming here. I don't think we get Holmes at this point, but I like our chances at getting Reshad Jones (the staff is really hammering down the fact that Landry might leave), I'd say we're almost in the lead for his signature. If we miss out on Jones then we could get Allen Walker, as long as he doesn't commit to UF first. As long as we can net one big time OT (Lewis or Symonette) I can't see us finishing out of the top 5. The top class is a stretch though. That would at least take Holmes and Jones and Holmes is very unlikely at this point.
We don't have to sign every top player left to finish at the top as long as another team doesn't sign all of those players instead. Of the ten top remaining players left undecided, ten different teams will likely sign them. LSU could quite easily finish #1, but I wouldn't bet money on it, nor would I say that finishing less than #1 is an indicator of the decline of LSU football. Just as long as LSU stays near the top...
Recruiting ranks are vastly overrated... As long as you fill your needs each class, I think that is all that matters... And so far this year, we are a few O-Lineman away from filling all of our needs, so I think it has been a success
If Dixon goes anywhere else........ .......I'll buy you a car (well unless two better WR's commit to us first).
