IF the Big 10 were to add another team to get to 12, first would most Big 10 fans be in favor of that (and having a conference Championship Game), and who do you think would be the favorite as the 12th team.
The natural choice to join the Big Ten would be Notre Dame since they play 3 or 4 big ten games a year anyways. I personally think the ACC,SEC, and Big12 teams get shafted by playing the made up game that is just there to make the conferences more money.
Notre Dame would never join the BigTen -- they would get rocked year in and year out. Imagine all the money they would lose from NBC and being able to qualify for a BCS bowl easier than anyone else.
The other teams that were involved in the NCG discussion all have legitimate arguments. However, when you compare all the teams and try to decide on the best 2 heres how it shakes out .... OU- won the Big 12, 11 -2; beat Mizzou twice, Texas and Tex A&M and Ok State. Two descent out of Conference wins - blew out Miami and beat Tulsa. They Lost to 6-6 Colorado and to 8-4 Tex tech USC- won the Pac 10; 10-2, beat AZ St, Ore St, Cal and UCLA; best out of conference win- Nebraska!!! USC.....lost to Vanderbilt, excuse me- Stanford, and Oregon UGA 10-2; didn't win anything except their last 6 games. They beat Florida, Auburn, Kentucky, OK State, Ga Tech and Alabama. They lost to 6-6 South Carolina and 9-4 Tennessee WV 10-2; won the Big East and played themselves out of a title shot by losing to a 27 pt underdog AT HOME on the last night of the season. LSU 11-2; Champs of the SEC. We beat Va Tech, Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, Miss State, Alabama, South Carolina. LSU lost to 7-5 Kentucky in Triple OT and to 8-4 R-Kansas in Triple OT. Ohio State- 11-1 and Champs of the Big 10. THey are the only 1 loss conference champion left standing. All of those other teams can whine all they want, but the bottom line is simple. We won the toughest conference. We had the best out of conference win, and the "best losses" of the 2 loss teams in the mix.
