I said it...but I just read it somewhere, and FWIW, it was another message board. But I agree with it if true, it would seem to me the way to go. OC in the booth can't teach a kid right after something went wrong. Can't explain what happened to him. I'd like to see Gary on the sideline this season, with CBG in the booth working in tandem. I think I'm gonna suggest this to Les. :yelwink2: Stay tuned.
I will expect implementation to be on par with Miles' usually alacrity with change. Somewhere around Thanksgiving...
Even better, it may actually let them get a play into the huddle with more than 5 seconds left on the play clock.
Gonzales, is listed also as Passing Game Coordinator per LSUsports.net: "As passing game coordinator, Gonzales will work with offensive coordinator Gary Crowton in developing strategies for LSU's passing attack." Sounds like coach speak for atleast Co-Offensive Coordinator to me
Based on what? There is no evidence of this. If Miles wanted Crowton gone he would be gone. I think you want Crowton gone and you just imagine that Miles does.
Thanks for the amateur psychoanalyzing. I clearly stated it's based on suspicion and belief, nothing more, and it's no secret to the regulars that I want Crowton gone, so I'm not sure what insightful point you're trying to make here. I'm also basing it on the firestorm of "insider info" from "sources" at season's end that guaranteed Crowton's ouster was a done deal. Not to mention the persistent rumors all season long of continuing friction between him and Miles. Then at the height of the speculation there's a meeting between Alleva and Miles, and suddenly the PR coming out is everything's rainbows and puppies again on the coaching staff. The coaching moves were also done during a period of time when a lot of LSU employees were getting their notices. There was also the matter of Chavis' raise when UGA showed interest, and Miles had already given the two coaches responsible for the worst production on the team raises after the 2008 season, increasing the cost of their buyouts. And both of those coaches are still here. Also, I may not be remembering right, but I seem to recall that Stud was offered a position at Memphis with Porter and he turned it down. Come to whatever conclusions you want. It's the off-season and I thought it would be a good topic of conversation. If you don't think so, it's no skin off my back.
