This is fucking bizarre. It's not about the weather in Gainesville at 11am on Saturday, it's about resources (for disaster response) and logistics. Commissioner Sankey or the Governor is going to have to step in.
They should move it because it's totally irresponsible to keep the plan to play in Gainesville when they still aren't sure when or where the hurricane will hit and how much damage it will do where. First of all, the LSU team is in a position of having to fly into a hurricane. Second, even if Gainesville is largely spared of any major damage the police and other responders working security will surely be needed in other parts of the state. South Carolina didn't have any insurance for such an eventuality. The Gay Turds do. If they absolutely fear moving it to Tiger Stadium there are other venues where the game could be played, If they played in the Superdome fewer tickets would be sold but more than if they played in Mobile or Birmingham. The Georgia Dome is out because another game is scheduled there for Saturday.
Oh they've got a million people driving across the country to help them. They can easily play a football game.
I guess we can travel to Florida and help the hurricane victims if the game isn't played. If Florida is going to be sensible then I'd rather put the pressure on them, though I'd be proud if Alleva said, "Screw y'all, we ain't coming." Straight bullshit on UF's part.
That's one reason I said go to Florida and put the pressure on UF, but if Alleva nutted up I'd appeal that shit to the SEC office for UF being a pair of jorts with a lumpy camel toe. And if the SEC office is run by idiots as well, f em, we took the high road. But the nonemotional way to handle it is to make the trip to Florida with the intention to help out if the game gets canceled. I'd be cool with either solution.
