The great Paul Krause from my time as a Vikings fan of the 70s and Fran Tarkenton days.

I don't care how good Ed Reed is, and he is great. Ronnie Lott could impact a game of Tecmo on a level heretofore unseen, when you add in his ability to cause fumbles. The only guy to surpass him was David Fulcher.
The great one may reappear here soon.

Fulcher. The guy was a beast. He was a big dude for a safety and could run them wr's down too.

IMO he should've at least received some votes for MVP.

Lott's the best I've seen. I think I'd have Rod Woodson in my Top 5 and haven't seen his name mentioned.

Ed Reed is without a doubt one of the best safeties in recent history, but I don't think I would call him the best. I would give Ronnie Lott that title. I would also like to add a completely unbiased write-in vote for Eric Berry.

For all the talk about Reed being a ballhawk, no body mentions that he's not that much of a tackler. My feeling is that it has to do something with the fact that he plays so deep. He only had 45 tackles this season.
