    Yep, so many times tonight they missed keeping those big runs either in the backfield or within a couple of yards gained by inches. At some point you have to chalk it up to them playing hard and having a really good run game.

    Just throwing this out there... Coming into tonight's game, LSU was allowing just a shade over 100 yards rushing per game. I know the defense has had issues throughout the season, but maybe tonight is just anomaly? While Ole Miss is not a good team, they did come into the game leading the SEC in rushing. They also had success against Alabama's defense.

    So even though we built a large lead at halftime, I am thinking the post-Alabama letdown occurred in the 2nd half. Even the offense was out of sorts somewhat, with Burrow throwing two interceptions. Fortunately, we were still able to score 27 points in the 2nd half. We had a 24 point lead at halftime, and won by 21.

    Let's see what happens over the next two weeks -- we have Arkansas, then Texas A&M. I'm not ready to throw in the towel on the defense just yet. I've got to believe that Aranda will fix this. The defense was embarrassed tonight, and I'm sure they'll play better going forward.
