This defense is worse than the Peveto two DC defense of years back. This is the worse defense in many, many years. Definitely the worst defense this century. I think it's a combination of Aranda's schemes, late adjustments, along with talent. We just don't have the DL we're accustomed to having at LSU.They too often are getting gashed. LB play has been poor, we really missing someone like White manning the middle. The tackling as a whole is poor. The big drop off is in the secondary. What's sad is we have two lock down CB's in Stingley and Fulton. IT's the rest of the secondary that can't cover. I noticed the secondary played much better in both the Bama game and Ole Miss when Flott was in the game. As a staff LSU must do a much better job of keeping the team focused going in to the second half. Too often LSU plays like shit in the second half, making mistakes.
Flott is gonna be good. I mentioned it earlier, and you are right, we have no 1st round type talent on the line or LB group. Chassion is a bust. late 2nd/3rd based on being a physical freak. That is about it.
Chaisson could benefit from coming back next year. He may get a good draft grade based on his potential but based on performance he should return to school. Delpit as well. He will get a good draft grade based on previous years and potential. This year he looks average at best.
I'm actually seeing a lot of mock's coming out with Chaisson going in the first. He will test well, so I could see it. He flashes a lot, but the production isn't there. The crazy thing is most of these guys were highly touted. We lack the pass rush LSU was always known for. Our second string was often nearly as good as the starters. The LB's are often out of place, taking poor angles, or getting caught in the wash. I think Brooks will be good, but he needs to add at least 20lbs.
I have never understood the hype for Chaisson. He has a total of 5 sacks in his entire career... 5. Yet he is hyped as a great pass rusher. I don't get it.
